Steven Tyler Sings Live Again

Years after a catastrophic throat injury and tons of rehab, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith was once again able to sing live. He performed as part of his annual Janie's Fund Grammy's event on Sunday night.

There were rumors of an Aerosmith reunion but that didn't happen, sadly. Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton did perform with Tyler along with a cadre of other stars, including guitarist Nuno Bettencourt.

Here's Tyler and Nuno doing "More Than Words." Hopefully Steven continues to heal and maybe we will get that one last Aerosmith show after-all.

Gojira Wins 'Best Metal Performance' Grammy

Remember when I said Gojira gave the best performance of the entire Olympics Opening Ceremony? Well, other folks agreed too, because the French band won the Grammy for "Best Metal Performance." So well deserved and I am excited for them.

Don't remember one of the best live metal performances of all time? I've got you. The official video for "Mea Culpa" is below.

'Tidal Wave' - Nickelback, New Video

From the album Get Rollin,' - Nickelback has a new video for their song "Tidal Wave." This is apparently the last video for the Get Rollin' project. Still one of the best live shows I've ever attended - if you can see Nickelback live, you should do it.

Def Leppard Release 'Stand By Me'

Def Leppard just released their cover of the Ben E. King classic "Stand By Me." I swear Joe Elliott sounds great here!

The proceeds of "Stand By Me" go to FireAid, which is wonderful. Once again, my beloved Def Leppard proving to be good humans.

Crashdiet Celebrates 20 Years Of 'Rest In Sleaze'

My beloved Swedish glammers Crashdiet will celebrate 20 years of their debut Rest In Sleaze in September. For those lucky enough to see this show, let me say I am so jealous. Rest In Sleaze remains one of my favorite glam albums of all time. It is definitely the best release of the glam-rebirth era.

If you don't have this debut on regular rotation - you should. I need it on vinyl.

'Rock and Roll Party Cowboy' - The Darkness

I'm a big fan of The Darkness. They've got a new visualizer for their song "Rock and Roll Party Cowboy."

You just have to laugh at this track: it's just a litany of every rock cliche. I especially enjoy the callouts for Jack Daniels and "bandana" - which I will assume is a nod toward Bret Michaels.

I think the intro is a little too long, but I like the guitar work and of course the song is fun and that is the point!
