Sonic Temple 2014 Announces New Dates

Hard to beleive we are already getting festival dates for next summer when there are still big events happening soon this year! At any rate, Sonic Temple Festival (previously Rock on the Range) will take place May 16 - 19. The Columbus, Ohio fest was previously held over Memorial Day weekend, which made it hard for some folks to attend. I personally think the earlier dates are better and I can't wait to find out the lineup. Pass and hotel bundles go on sale tomorrow. Crazy.

Jetboy Release New Cover

Jetboy just released a cover of the Gary Wright classic "Dream Weaver." I listen to Yacht Rock on Sirius XM a lot, so I hear "Dream Weaver" all the time. This Jetboy take is a good one!

Next weekend, Jetboy will play at the Whisky A Go-Go in Hollywood. Presumably this new release is to celebrate that show.

Kicks Ass! Butt! (Yikes)

This old Britny Fox advertisement for their debut album is a riot. I've been in some from of communications for my entire 20+ year career. I like to think I've never written anything this bad for promotion -- let alone get to the approval, publishing and printing stage.

Also, thanks Reddit!

Bang Tango Frontman Suffers Stroke

Joe Leste, singer of Bang Tango, suffered a stroke earlier this month. The 58 year old is still in a rehabilitation center and obviously the care isn't cheap. You can donate to Joe's GoFundMe below (second post).

Strokes are terrifying. The Facebook post from Joe seems upbeat, but what else can he say at this point? Presumably the post was written for him, but I do hope he makes a full recovery.

Bret Michaels 'Parti-Gras' Live Review

Last night, Eric and I went to see Bret Michaels on his Parti-Gras tour. Today is my birthday but the concert was part of the weekend festivities. The show was at a place called J.D. Legends in Franklin, Ohio -- just a few miles from my house. I'm actually seeing Slaughter at the same venue Friday night.

Bret played for exactly an hour, so I would say that's a good payday for sixty minutes of work. We got most of the Poison hits and the last song was a cover of "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The place was well packed and it was an outdoor show. Perfect weather definitely helped and brought out a large crowd. Highlights for me included "Unskinny Bop" and "Ride The Wind" of course. Bret also said Poison would be on the road in 2025 - something he has said previously, so it seems like that plan is going to stick and it will be interesting to see how joins on that package.

Bret comes to J.D. Legends about every summer and he did take a moment to thank folks in attendance for also showing up to the Cincinnati stop of the Stadium Tour with Motley Crue and Def Leppard. For what it's worth, Bret sounded good and seemed like he was in a great mood. The show was no bullshit - just music and it was over by 10:15. I'm old so I liked that a lot.

I noticed a whole lot of smiling folks while leaving the venue. It sure seemed like everyone had nothing but a good time - I just wish someday I could hear "Fallen Angel," "Back To the Rocking Horse" and "Love on the Rocks" live.

Winger, 'Voodoo Fire' -- Official Video

Winger now has a video for their song "Voodoo Fire" from the new album Seven. It's a strong song and I dig it - a lot. Really good stuff here - Winger's new album is one of the strongest of the year.

Guns n' Roses, 'Perhaps' -- Official Video

Guns n' Roses has shared their official video for the new track "Perhaps." It's a live video with slick editing. I like it. Also, big T.G.I.F. from me!
