'Kings Before You' -- New James Durbin Track

Today was pretty chaotic. Between Eric dumping a jumbo container of coffee onto the kitchen floor first thing this morning, to me tripping badly over carpet and hurting my back to the cat running headfirst into the wall, the morning was off to a not great start. Add in a huge (read: extra heavy) delivery from Best Buy and some demanding work projects that took about 15 times longer than necessary, and well... it's been a day. I mean, I was eating my Lean Cuisine - yes, that was dinner tonight, sadly - and I realized I had not updated this site, listened to a single song today or even checked the news. Eric was tucked away in his own office all day, one video call after another. I don't think he even ate lunch.

So anyway, I finally sit down and pop open Twitter and see that James Durbin has released his first solo track. It is called "Kings Before You" and it is different from what I expected from him. I was anticipating something a little more Glam and this track is more straight-ahead rock. I think the goal here was to sound in the vein of Judas Priest.

"Kings Before You" is on the upcoming album The Beast Awakens due February from Frontiers.

Oh and for the record - I will always consider James Durbin as being an American Idol... and less ex-Quiet Riot frontman.

Metallica Announces New Monopoly Game

Metallica has an all-new Monopoly board game out now. This second edition focuses on tour life and looks pretty cute. Personally, I love Monopoly. In fact, it is my favorite game. I own the classic edition, the credit card version (where you put cards in readers to buy properties!) and I just bought another special edition for a family Christmas gift. This Metallica version is not cheap - it is $40 and you can buy on the band's official website.

I Couldn't Resist, And Yes, I Snickered

Ok, I saw this story on Blabbermouth today and couldn't resist - I had to share. So Tommy Lee is actually lending his name to a cowbell. The "rock star" cowbell will be used on the 2021 Motley Crue stadium tour.

From the article:

Commenting on his new signature cowbell, Tommy said: "For you drummers out there, this thing is f**king LOUD! This is the most badass bell ever, can't wait to make some noise with it!"

So yeah. You'll be able to buy this bell soon. It is produced by Latin Percussion (LP).
