'It's A Wonderful World'

The Scorpions have a gift for fans this Christmas eve: an a cappella version of the classic "It's A Wonderful World." The song was originally recorded by Louis Armstrong and is played every year after the ball drops during the New Year's Eve celebration in New York City.

In addition to the song, the Scorps give a little studio update as well. We can expect new music from them next year.

Live In 2006: Steely Dan and Michael McDonald

Here is a fun find that came up in my YouTube feed this morning: a pro-shot concert from August, 2006 of Steely Dan and Michael McDonald. You already know I love both Steely Dan and Michael McDonald, so this was exciting for me. The concert was uploaded about two months ago. Remember, McDonald was a member of Steely Dan for awhile. I plan to enjoy this fully after work today when I can really concentrate and take in the songs.

This Is Absurd - 2020 Holiday Version

Brent Smith is the singer of Shinedown. He also made the most absurd comment on Twitter about Dr. Fauci, the pandemic and Santa. I mean, can we just have some joy this pandemic holiday season? Dr. Fauci said he personally gave Santa the COVID-19 vaccine and is good to go to deliver presents this year. Obviously, Fauci is just trying to make some kids happy during a really weird time. Taking a public stance against this just seems... absurd. But 2020, so hey, amirite?

Ringo Starr has a new single and it is called “Here’s To The Nights.” Yes, Paul McCartney sings on this track too! Plus Joe Walsh, Sheryl Crow, Lenny Kravtiz and loads more. This song is cheerful and makes 2020 suck a little less!

An Interesting Fact I Did Not Know

Today, Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones turns 77. I had no idea that he wrote some of "Satisfaction" while sleeping. I read Jagger Unauthorized when I was probably 16 so that was a million years ago. Perhaps the creation of the song was in the book but I don't remember much about it. I thought this was pretty cool and worthy of a share. Happy Friday. This has been a really long week for me.
