Whitesnake Announces 'The Blues Album'

Mark Feb. 19 on your calendar. That is the day Whitesnake will release The Blues Album. From the band:

The Blues Album showcases two of the band’s biggest songs: “Slow An’ Easy,” a Top 20 Mainstream Rock hit in 1984 from Whitesnake’s double-platinum album Slide It In, and a brand new guitar based remix of the smash hit “Give Me All Your Love” from the band’s 1987 self-titled album, which was certified multi multi platinum. Other choice tracks from Whitesnake are also featured: “Looking For Love” and “Crying In The Rain,” and “Steal Your Heart Away,” which is available now.

Pre-order the album now by clicking on the art above.

James Durbin, 'Evil Eye' -- New Video

I do not know what the difference between a music video and official "visualizer video" is exactly, but we have a new James Durbin clip to enjoy today. The "visualizer" is of the song "Evil Eye" which is on Durbin's upcoming solo effort due next month.

The new album is called The Beast Awakens and features lots of guest artists including Chris Jericho.

Nothing Else To Add

Today in America has been shameful.

A true failure of leadership from Donald Trump and just a complete breakdown for D.C. Capitol police. The angry mob that broke into the heart of America's democracy and actually reached the floor of the House and Senate - threatening lawmakers, pulling guns, looking at classified documents and destroying property - should all be prosecuted. Yet, hours into this mess at the time of this writing, there is no video of anyone in handcuffs. How can that be?

Anyway, the rock world - hell, the ENTIRE world - is weighing in on this mess. Paul Stanley made some comments.

The photo below will probably win a Pulitzer.

Grammy Ceremony Postponed

COVID-19 has forced organizers of the Grammy awards to postpone the planned event for later this month. Now organizers are hoping the show can happen in March. The current pandemic situation in California - where the show is held and broadcast on live television - is in full crisis mode. Things are so bad in the southern part of the state that EMTs are being told to not even bring patients to area hospitals if they will not survive. This applies to every medical issue, not just COVID.

I no longer watch the Grammy awards anyway, but I always check online to see the winners in the rock and metal categories. Then I usually shake my head.

What Would You Like To Discuss This Year?

As we march right on into 2021, I think it is a good time to discuss future posts. What would you like to discuss here? I am thinking about special series or weekly themed posts. Like on social media, you always get Throwback Thursday. Well, just about everything we do here is throwback. So we could do new music Monday or something similar.

I have also been toying around with the idea of a weekend free-for-all where either on a Saturday or Sunday, I post an interesting news feature I have read the week before. One of the best pieces of journalism I read in 2020 was from The Guardian called "The Man In The Iron Lung." Truly fascinating. I love longform journalism and just interesting pieces in general, so it would be fun to have a place to discuss such stories outside of Facebook. This is another reason for starting the BBG! book club - to have intelligent conversations with other readers while avoiding Facebook.

So sound off in the comments and tell me who or what you would like to read about this new year. We have 12 months ahead of us and a lot of ground to cover.

Here's a pro-shot Aerosmith concert from 2014 just because.

Def Leppard Vault Countdown

The opening of the Def Leppard "vault" is coming soon. On January 13, the band will open the vault and we will all finally know what it is all about. This is something Def Leppard has been promoting for months now so it better be a whole lot more than just another greatest hits package. Watch the clip below for a little more information.
