Lollapalooza Officially Canceled

Not sure why it took so long, but the Mayor of Chicago has officially canceled Lollapalooza. The fest happens right around the first weekend of August in Grant Park. Looks like there will be a virtual event over the originally scheduled dates.

We have no idea who was set to play this year as no lineup was ever announced and no tickets  sold. 100,000 people attend Lollapalooza each year. I went when the headliners were Lady Gaga, Green Day and Soundgarden. That was 2010! Great fest, great show. Of the cancellation, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said:

“The reality is, bringing 100,000 people en masse, in close quarters, which is what the daily head count is every single day at Lollapalooza, bringing that many people from all over the country, downtown, in Grant Park, every single day, we might as well just light ourselves on fire. It makes no sense."

Brian May: Greatest Guitarist Of All Time?

Total Guitar magazine has voted Queen's Brian May the greatest guitarist of all time. Now, May is amazing. But the greatest? That is subjective. Honestly I would probably put David Gilmour of Pink Floyd over May. And Jimi Hendrix too. Who would you select as the best guitarist of all time?

About Those New Tommy Lee Tracks...

Here you go: Tommy Lee's new music. Two new songs off his forthcoming album ANDRO.

In the first song below, Tommy Lee is barely in the video at all. You can hear his voice sometimes I guess. I have never heard of PUSH PUSH before but I like the lady with the purple hair. I mean, I would totally get my hair dyed that way but I am still staying away from hair salons and having color like that is exceptionally expensive to maintain. The fact that I am reviewing a woman's hair color and not the music should tell you everything you need to know about this track. Listen for yourself.

Tommy's second new track is below. I didn't notice Tommy at all in this video but maybe I just missed him. I do not hear his voice here at all either - so perhaps his contribution is the electronic music. I am not sure. To be honest, I do not know what to say about this one at all. I listened to the end but I will not give it a second spin.

2020 man. It has everything: presidential impeachment, the plague, systemic racism, riots, a crazy economy, murder hornets and new Tommy Lee music featuring no drum work at all. Keep an eye out for the locusts and mudslides. Both must just be around the corner.

Tommy Lee Announces New Music

Tommy Lee will release two new songs tomorrow. He made the announcement with a short video on Twitter. I guess the music on the snippet is part of one song and it does not sound like Motley Crue to me. I think this is more dance/EDM type stuff. We will know more tomorrow I guess.

Don't get your hopes up. I feel like that phrase should just be the slogan of 2020 at this point.
