Big Rock Summer Tour Canceled

The Big Rock Summer Tour with Ratt, Tom Keifer, Skid Row and Slaughter is now cancelled. Those with tickets will automatically receive refunds, which is nice. The tour was postponed once and then outright canceled yesterday. It just is not safe to have big shows this summer. Plus I imagine no one wants the liability. Probably impossible to get an insurance rider right now, too.

The summer of no fun officially begins this Saturday, June 20. Summer is generally my favorite season - the heat and the long days make me happy! I live in a community with a pool and it is supposed to open by the weekend, so I am really looking forward to visiting it at least and enjoying the sun (while wearing a hat, of course).

That One Time When Steel Panther Became A Boy Band

Steel Panther is at it again. The band has a new video and this time, they are a boy band called Four Pump Chumps. The look is a cross between The Backstreet Boys and N'Sync (of course) and Steel Panther nails it. The song "Let's Get High Tonight" is ridiculous, but what else would you expect from them at this point? The track is from the album Heavy Metal Rules.

Dirty Honey Working On New Music

Dirty Honey is one of my favorite "new" bands - and now the group is working on new music! Originally slated to record their new album in Australia, the band was thrown off a little by the COVID-19 pandemic. They regrouped and decided to record in their US-based studio while using Zoom to collaborate with producer Nick DiDia, who is based in Australia.

Hearing the excerpts of new music makes me really excited. I think this new music could be really special.

I'll Pass - But This Is Something At Least

Doro held a "drive-in" concert in her homeland of Germany yesterday. She shared a little clip on Twitter. I know bands are trying inventive things during the pandemic and Live Nation wants to get ticket money any way possible, but going to a concert and sitting in the car just does not seem appealing to me. Also, what is the point if everyone gets out of their cars and then clumps together? Why not just have the show outside in a shed like normal?

All that said, I am bored to death with not much happening because of COVID-19 so I can see people being interested in any chance to see a live show.

'Right Now' - 2020 Version

Van Halen has been playing a lot in my house recently because Eric has been on a Van Hagar kick. In his mind, the only true Van Halen is when Sammy was at the helm. I know that is an argument for another day! That said, I've heard "Right Now" quite a few times over the past two weeks or so.

Now, Sammy Hagar and The Circle have a new quarantine video for "Right Now" and I must say it sounds great. I can't believe how well Sammy's voice is holding up after all these years and there is no denying Michael Anthony's backing talents, either! A great tune for a nice weekend.

Post Malone Releases 'Tommy Lee'

So here's a song Tommy Lee does play drums on: it is the new Post Malone track called, of course, "Tommy Lee." This will be a massive hit I'm sure because people seem to love Post Malone. It isn't really my cup of tea, but good for Tommy. He is keeping busy and staying creative and on his own terms. I know we probably do not care for his music choices these days, but they are his alone to make. It is our choice, of course, to spend or not spend to support these types of songs!

New Enuff Z'nuff Music!

Enuff Z'nuff has a new song out called "Broken Love." It is on the upcoming album Brainwashed Generation. You can tell the track is Enuff Z'nuff within about two seconds: the classic, plodding cadence is there, right in your face. Plus you have Chip Z'nuff's classic energy and all those Beatles influences.

At this point, I have given up hope that Donnie Vie will rejoin the band. He belongs with Chip but it is what it is. "Broken Love" is a mellow rocker. Enjoy.
