The Steven Tyler Documentary Looks Pretty Awesome

We now have a look at the upcoming Steven Tyler documentary Out On A Limb. It just opened to much fanfare at the Nashville Film Festival.

Out On a Limb takes a look at Steven's career, but really focuses on his solo record and turn to country music as an independent artist. He's a living legend and the frontman of my favorite band.

I'm no country fan but I'm looking forward to this movie. It comes out via Momentum Pictures on May 15.

The Amazon Music Hair Metal Station Is Really Good

Last night, Eric and I were driving home from going out for pizza. He grabbed his phone and hit the Bluetooth and said "turn on the hair metal station, it's really good." I sort of stared at him because 1) We have satellite radio, so we get Hair Nation and 2) We own every song on the Amazon Hair Metal station. Still, I relented and turned it on. Eric commented on every song that came up: "November Rain," - Classic! "Is This Love?" - Amazing.

I stared at him again.

Then DLR-era Van Halen popped up. Then Aerosmith and I started to get it. There were bands on here that aren't really Hair Metal but are our favorites and the convenience of having the bands all grouped together was appealing.

So we're bopping down the highway, listening to some Heart and then reminiscing about the time Carrie Underwood did "Alone" on American Idol like a decade ago (seriously).

So for whatever it's worth, you should give the Amazon Music "Hair Metal" station a try, especially if you don't have a satellite radio subscription. I have the more expensive Unlimited subscription and now I can't imagine life without it - basically any song in the world, immediately at my fingertips, streaming on my phone and downloaded for offline use too.

Stephen Pearcy Readies New Album

New music incoming! Stephen Pearcy will release View To a Thrill later this year. It's his fifth solo album. I just hope we get some songs half as good as those on Infestation. I was listening to that 2010 release again the other day and was just blown away all over again at the quality. "Best of Me" is just one hell of a catchy track.
