Sonic Temple Festival Announces Venue App

I think time got away from me. I didn't realize that Sonic Temple Festival started tomorrow... in a way it seems weird to think we're on the cusp of Memorial Day weekend here in America.

For those attending the fest in Columbus, Ohio this weekend, be sure to get the app mentioned below so you know where everything is and when each band is playing. I'm so old, I remember writing down the bands and set times on a piece of paper and shoving that in my pocket. The good old days!

You can buy passes through the link below (from resellers). Headliners include Avenged Sevenfold, Queens of the Stone Age, KISS, Foo Fighters and many more.

Stephen Pearcy Announces More 'Sunset Strip Experience' Tour Dates

Stephen Pearcy of RATT and drummer Steven Adler are teaming up for some shows during The Sunset Strip Experience tour. The tour is really Pearcy's and he goes out with different 80s acts - or solo - around the USA. A few dates have already been played and more keep being added. Note that the shows are mostly 21+.

You can see all the dates on Pearcy's website. Pearcy will perform a show with Vince Neil in a couple months and also some gigs with Quiet Riot. Go seen these types of shows while you still can. The tour landscape is changing and our faves won't be around forever.

A.I. Videos Are Here... And Happy World Goth Day

Here we go: an (authorized) A.I. generated video promoting a Type O Negative track "Halloween In Heaven"  is now available in celebration of World Goth Day. I guess this is the future of music video production. It's already arguable if it even makes sense for bands to spend big money on videos these days. Surely A.I. must be cheaper than the traditional way of hiring a director and camera crew for an on-site shoot.

This Type O Negative video plays with A.I. and welcomes deceased music heroes Dimebag, John Bonham, John Entwistle, Bon Scott, Randy Rhoads, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, George Harrison, Jim Morrison, Elvis Presley and naturally Peter Steele of Type O into the clip.

I'm gonna sound like an old crone here but I am not really excited to hear a bunch of A.I. generated songs, let alone watch a bunch of straight computer-generated videos. But that's me. I love technology and I support it, but I prefer some human emotion behind my song creation. Please and thanks. Now get off my lawn!

Ronnie Younkins Will Perform At KIX Farewell Show

KIX guitarist Ronnie Younkins has confirmed he will be part of the band's farewell show this coming September in Baltimore.

There was some question if Younkins would be included because of his absence from the band due to his sobriety struggles. But Ronnie is doing better now and will take part in the historic KIX event. In fact, the show will feature three guitarists: Younkins, Brian Forsythe and Bob Pare. Pare has been filling in for Younkins the past couple of years.

I'm glad Younkins will be on stage that night - there's no other place he should be, quite frankly.

'Over the Hills and Far Away' - Remastered Video

Picture it: Madison Square Garden, July 1973. The biggest rock band in the world rolls into New York City for a massive show. Just another stop on the Houses of the Holy tour.

Through the miracle of technology, a remastered and high-definition clip of Led Zep performing "Over the Hills and Far Away" is now available for your enjoyment.

I obviously did not get to see Led Zeppelin on tour. Seeing clips like this in such clear definition is a real treat.

Happy New Def Leppard Album Eve!

Drastic Symphonies is out tomorrow and I am so pumped. Def Leppard are celebrating this new album and collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and performed on BBC2 Radio to promote the release.

Sadly, it doesn't seem like my pre-ordered vinyl will show up tomorrow. Looks like I will have to wait for a Monday delivery to get that new vinyl in my hot little hands. Until then, I'll be streaming on Amazon Music.

All the naysayers out there (ok, in the comments section here) will not detract from my excitement about this album!
