Does Every Rocker Have A Booze Brand Now?

Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick has his own vodka line now. It's called ROCK N' Vodka. It's made in Europe and is vegan (of course) and gluten free. The bottle looks cool as hell and this is probably a nice gift for the Cheap Trick fan in your life. The holiday season is almost here.

I'm Totally Reading This 'Cheap Trick' Book

American Standard: Cheap Trick from the Bars to the Budokan and Beyond by Ross Warner is due next month. The new book promises an in-depth look at how Cheap Trick got famous. Mike McCready of Pearl Jam provides the foreword.

I always love these sorts of books for the stories about other artists, too. Obviously Cheap Trick has played with just about every rocker over the years so you know there must be some tea spilled here! Amazon has the book up now for pre-order.

1988 Was A Badass Year For Music

The Facebook post below just showed up in my suggested follows account last night. I couldn't help but notice all the amazing songs from 1988. So many great number 1 hits! There's so many George Michael songs here (Faith was a huge album folks!), plus Guns n' Roses, Def Leppard and INXS. Cheap Trick hit paydirt with "The Flame" and so did Poison with "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."

Bon Jovi reached the top of the charts with "Bad Medicine" and The Beach Boys made a comeback with "Kokomo." Such a great list of songs. Perhaps the best year for popular music, ever. Thoughts?

Cheap Trick Announces Las Vegas Residency

Cheap Trick will host a short Las Vegas residency beginning in late February. Tickets are on sale today and since there are so few shows, I expect each will sell out quickly. This is happening at the STRAT hotel. Good luck if you are planning on attending - let me know if you get tix!
