Proof That Lzzy Hale Can Sing Anything

So country act Brooks & Dunn have a new album called Reboot II and I guess it's all reimagined versions of their most famous tracks. Since I'm from the "holler" part of Ohio, I definitely know the B&D song "Boot Scootin' Boogie." Now Halestorm has teamed up with the country legends for a new version of the song.

It's important to note that the B&D version was a cover to begin with so doing it up again isn't all that shocking.

"Boot Scootin' Boogie" was released back in 1991 and helped usher in the wave of line dancing in the 90s. I guess we can all agree we're glad that craze is mostly gone. I think.

Anyway, Lzzy Hale sounds great on this song and it was a smart move for Brooks & Dunn to record with a metal act. A whole new market just opened up for them here and the same goes for Halestorm.

'can you see me in the dark?' - Performance Video

"can you see me in the dark?" is a collaboration between Halestorm and I Prevail. It also happens to be one of my very favorite songs of the year so far - and it is routinely in the top 10 of the weekly Octane countdown.

A pro-shot live performance of both bands doing the song is now available. This is just such an incredible performance - I had to share!

'can u see me in the dark?'

The collaboration we all needed! Halestorm and I Prevail just released the track "can u see me in the dark?" and it's a banger. It's a nice release after singer Lzzy Hale's successful run as the fill-in singer for Skid Row. That stint really gave Skid Row and Halestorm some nice press.

"can u see me in the dark?" is another great addition to my running playlist. The breakdown is extra tasty (it's at 2:40). Some like it hot. Others like it heavy. That's me. I like it heavy.

Lzzy Hale Rocks With Skid Row (There Was Never Any Doubt)

There was no doubt, but the videos prove it: Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale rocked her gigs fronting Skid Row. Moreover, her vocals just prove how amazing Sebastian Bach was back in the day, recording the tracks. Hale worked her tail off to hit every note and she's got a great range! Bach hit the notes in "I Remember You" with ease and it is just a testament to his rare gift.

I wish these videos were pro-shot - I'm greedy like that and I want to hear Lzzy better! There are a couple more dates left - maybe one of those will be pro-shot.

Here's "18 and Life" - did I mention Lzzy looks fantastic too?

A little Halestorm live, just for fun:

Skid Row Announce Lead Singer Departure

Erik Grönwall has left Skid Row. The band says the departure was amicable and Erik says he had to leave the rigors of a touring band because of his health and continued recovery from cancer.

Interestingly, Lzzy Hale of Halestorm will fill in for the band's already-scheduled dates. I think that is amazingly cool and will be fun to see. I hope Erik continues on his path to health. Touring has to be a nightmare of exhaustion for anyone, let alone someone recovering from cancer. I wish him well... and this will just fuel more Sebastian Bach "return to the fold" rumors.

Halestorm, I Prevail To Tour

Halestorm, Hollywood Undead, I Prevail and Fit For A King will hit the road together this summer. I love I Prevail and Halestorm so this would be such a fun package to see. No, it's not a Glam tour but still seems like a blast.

Speaking of I Prevail, Eric and I were out to eat and doing errands Friday night and we caught the band's special concert on Octane on SiriusXM. It was a fun listen and I'm glad we caught it! Eric is also a big I Prevail fan - we both love running to their music.

Halestorm Covers Adele, But...

Halestorm covers Adele's big hit "Hello" but it can't come close to the NFL parody of a few years back. The band was just screwing around with the brief cover (as you can see below) but the song probably could be a really cool track for them.

All that said... The NFL on FOX "Hello" parody is plain epic. I'm so glad I was watching the show to see this live. Since that time, Eric and I have made constant references to the song - and we sing the football version lyrics all the time. The "o-line" comment always takes me out.

And in case you haven't been inside a Kohl's or dentist office lately, here's the Adele version of "Hello:"
