So I Interviewed Nikki Sixx and Vince Neil...

The other day I interviewed Nikki Sixx and Vince Neil of Motely Crue. As you know, Motley made their "huge - colossal - earth-shattering" tour announcement Tuesday night. Both Nikki and Vince were up bright and early the next morning for a satellite media tour of television stations all over the country. I interviewed the pair for my old station in Dayton, Ohio.

As you'll soon see, Vince and Nikki were less than interested in doing press and were also crabby as hell. Whatever.

Just click the video below. Because I did the interview as a true satellite, you can't hear my questions. My husband slated the questions, so you will see what I was asking and then be able to see Vince and Nikki give their answers.

Special thanks to Heather, Brad, Stacy and Peter for making this happen...even if Nikki kept messing with his hair. And iPhone. And nose. And ear.

Meh, screw it: just push play.

That wasn't too bad at all and I thought they were very cordial with the answers. Cut them some slack for all the press they've been doing and all the same questions they must get asked. I thought they did a very good job, and I'm not saying that to kiss ass.

I think Motley Crue releasing Saints of Los Angeles on Rockband is an ingenious idea. So many bands are experiencing new success through Guitar Hero, and Rockband is quite similar to that.

Hell Aerosmith has a new Guitar Hero game coming out with just their music. It is a pretty cool way to establish new fans, especially with the tweens and teens.

The long time Motley Crue fans will just buy the CD. I will likely preorder this one, as soon as preorders are available.

Great Interview Allyson!

Allyson,

You took it to them and asked so really good questions. Sure they were doing press all day and have answered the same questions over and over but you did the job.

Best question was asking Nikki about his 3 jobs. Of course he answered appropriately but its a question fans want to know about. Look what happened to KISS when Gene Simmons had Simmons Records back in the '80s, he lost focus and KISS declined. Motley is something these guys do for two years very four years so it might not interfere.

Good job!

Good for you! Great opportunity to interview Vince & Nikki! I thought it was excellent; you asked some great questions and I thought they were polite and Vince seemed quite open.

They have to come To GEORGIA!

Good interview, and they weren't the same stoack questions everyone asks.
Last tour, I had a program director friend of mine slip his Barbara walters question in at the end. He asked about Personality #9, which Nikki said was the working title of their 9th album. The math still doesn't add up.

Sell outs? Silly term. Every band wants to be a success and sell records. That's why they sign record deals. The only ones who cry "sell out," are the ones who can't sell anything.

Hi to Eric!

That would be "stock questions" in the first line of my previous post.

...even if Nikki kept messing with his hair. And iPhone. And nose. And ear....

That made me laugh!

Allyson...I've worked with a lot of bands...and believe me, THAT was not crabby. Trust me! haha Lemmy from Motorhead first thing in the morning...THAT is crabby! :)

You rock sista!

didn't seem crabby to me at all. distracted at first, maybe bored with doing interviews or the prospect of doing them all day. i think since you weren't asking the same old questions they picked up their interest about midway through.

What a wonderful interview....The questions were GREAT - it was refreshing to watch an interview with new material! Most interviews seem to have the same questions.....but this was perfect!!! Thank you for sharing this interview CRUE FOREVER~

I didn't think they were being polite at all. They could use some lessons in tact and diplomacy (but then again they're Vince and Nikki).

sellouts? I agree with Randy. God, I hate that word when it comes to bands/musicians. It's ridiculous.
