Slade Will Play Sweden Rock Festival

Some of you know I am a fan of Slade. Now there's word the band will play Sweden Rock Festival. The festival is set for early June 2012.  Around 70 bands will perform at the fest.

Funny clip. made me smile. "Run Runaway" & " My Oh My" are classics in my book at least. Quiet Riot you could say owe their career to Slade. As seniors they are probably still funny as hell. Jeez its almost 40 years since that video

Really? Noddy hasn't been with the band since the early 90's. All the crap that GnR gets or Warrant or LAG...NO Noddy, NO Slade. Happy Thanksgiving (belated) LOL

I have to agree with Sweet Lou. Noddy is one of those vocalists who defines the sound of the band (sorta' like Buck in BOC). I'm not one to slag bands who continue on without original members (save when the creative output or approximation of the same on stage starts to wane). But some members are more important than others. This is one of those cases.

Having Slade play Sweden Rock Festival, with or without Noddy Holder is the perfect example of how, more and more, things are happening that Bring Back Glam!

Oh man Slade rocks but yeah Noddy has a very distinctive voice. We played Run Runaway for marching band my senior year and it cranked pretty well actually. Great trombone part , we got the main melody in everything for that song. That song actually got me into the band.
