Let's Guess Motley Crue's Big Announcement

Motley Crue will announce something "big" tonight and tomorrow on Piers Morgan Tonight which airs on CNN (9 p.m. ET). The band will be at the Whisky a Go Go to make their big announcement via satellite on the show.

Robin Leach (yeah, from Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous) thinks the band will announce a Las Vegas residency at the Hard Rock Hotel. Seriously. Leach reports the band will play a series of three or four nightly concerts a week in February... and that the deal could be repeated in 2012.

If this is all true, I think it's insane. And why announce something like a metal residency... on Piers Morgan of all shows? The residency could be a way to celebrate the band's 30 year anniversary. Las Vegas residencies and metal bands just don't seem to go together though. I mean, Vegas is more Manilow and less Megadeth... but I guess money talks, right?

The other piece of the puzzle is a big SIXX: AM announcement sometime in December, too. Could the two announcements be linked? Whatever the result, I'll post all the dirt up here.

Let me guess. Nikki died twice, so that makes him cool and in touch with the kids today.

Nikki tweeted earlier this week that a new Sixx:A.M. album is in the works, but that tweet has since been deleted.

As for the LV deal...I've never been to Vegas and never plan to go, so I really don't care. A tour that comes through Cincy would be a much bigger announcement to me.

I'm not sure about a Vegas Residency. It makes sense in theory....I do think this may be a desperate attempt on the hard rock's part to revive the casino, and in that case, I hope this works. I hate that the Hard Rock in Vegas isn't happening anymore. I'm anxious to see what this is all about. I don't foresee myself getting out to Vegas though in Feb. Just not in the cards for me!

Vegas is only about a five hour drive for me, and I do love the city, but I still wouldn't go to see a Crue residency there. Why? Because I think Crue would figure out a way to screw it up. For a primer on how to do a residency the right way, take a look at the Allman Brothers' anual residency in NYC at the Beacon Theater. They usually do 10 to 15 shows, and the setlist is almost completely different every night. they even do a bunch of songs by other artists. If I know Crue, they would probably do almost the same show every night, and not stretch themselves musically at all. who needs that? Also, Kari, as far as the Hard Rock in vegas goes, they got what they deserved IMHO. They charge way more for their rooms than many other casinos on the strip. As much as my wife and I have always thought it would be cool to stay there, why the hell would we plunk down $200 a night for a room at the Hard rock, when we can get a perfectly nice room at the Stratosphere for nearly a quarter of that price? I can only assume that they thought they were such hot sh*t that people would be happy to shell out that kind of money simply because they are the hard rock. I guess they found out differently, didn't they?

I heard a rumor that they were going to do each album in it's entirety on the different nights. If that's true, that would be cool to see.

It may be that they have finally extradited themselves from MTV over "The Dirt" movie and are going to announce it's pending release. I would love this, but I am inclined to think it is the LV residency.

I heard that for each night, each member will switch instruments for the whole night..one night Tommy will sing half-assed, Mick will play drums,,including going upside down (wig double sided taped on),,Vince will play the bass, but miss most notes and play every other one.Nikki will play the guitar but it has both E strings removed as to not confused his enlarged head.

Now, now, kiddies. They're almost all we've got. Stay tuned for the interview, which will supposedly reveal all about their Vegas gig. It sure would be cool if they played each album in it's entirety.

Count me in for "Too Fast For Love", their best album.

p.s. Very funny, Gary and Jimbo! Hahaha!!!

This is a non-event. An easy way to make money & play some gigs, & best of all, KEEP VINCE OFF THE ROADS!
"Touring" in a way to make the audience come to them instead of vice-versa. Vegas shows are a big production, Motley's gonna have to step up the show production to keep track w/ the average Vegas show. Just a roller coaster drum kit isn't gonna cut it.
