5 Years of Glam

I can't believe that I started this website on December 3, 2006 and now here we are, five years later. That is just insane to me. There's something like 2,500 articles across this website right now: that's a lot of Glam!
To celebrate my five year anniversary, the Glam husband and I saw Guns n' Roses last night in Cincinnati. Have no fear, a full review is coming!
Every year on December 3, I marvel at all the friends and connections I've made because of Bring Back Glam! It seems like each year I am blessed with more and more connections. Some of my very best friends came about because of this site - now I can't imagine life without some of you (and you know who you are!)
2010 saw the addition of two additional writers, our friends Christian and Brian. 2011 saw me struggling to find time to write BBG!, contribute to Noisecreep, work a demanding job and really ramp up my exercise regime. As you probably know, I never have a plan of what to write from one day to the next. I write as the spirit moves me. I'm now officially in marathon training meaning that after I work all day, run and then eat, I feel like a zombie. There are days when I feel like I can't string two sentences together, but I still try because I don't want to let you down. I still marvel every single day that anyone other than my own mother would care to spend time reading my blather. There are times when I think about my running hobby and realize that without music, I could never get through my runs. I can't get through my workday without music either. And each morning, I just instinctively Google search the Glam bands we love just to make sure I didn't miss something big over night. And yes, I still excited for festival season. What fun awaits us during this fifth year? I guess only time will tell!
And now, per tradition of every anniversary post on this site, I must say to all "Let's get rocked!"

How appropriate that you celebrated with G'n'R!
I so much look forward to the next 5 years and I can't tell you how much fun it is to go on your incredible site to discover stuff about our fave bands, new ones, new old ones (can't tell ya how many 80's/early 90's Glam Metal bands you have turned me onto and I thought I knew 'em all!), new people like all the cool and crazy writers and commentors, plus any Glam Metal news, too!
Here's just one example of how your site effects my life:
I usually check the site everyday unless I get totally swamped at work. I had been wanting to see the Poison Dolls Crüe Tour this past summer but missed 'em in Tampa cuz I was low on $$$. Writing it off as yet another missed opportunity to finally see Poison AND finally catch the Crüe again, weeks later I went on BBG! just to kind of see what was going on in the Glam Metal World when lo and behold, I see a post by you stating there were a few VIP passes left for Outlaw Jam in Frederick, Maryland with Poison Crüe Dolls as the headlining acts!
Needless to say, I scraped the bux together for what turned out to be incredibly cheap VIP pit tickets, flew up from Florida with a cheap round trip plane ticket and went to the show with my ex-lead guitarist. And the traffic cop on Segway even let us park in a field right near the entrance for free!
Then I witnessed one of THE Best Rock'n'Roll Shows I've ever seen in my life (AND I've seen quite few) point blank!
Not only that, you then posted my reviews of both bands on this very site!
So, Al, let us raise a glass of Dom to none other than YOU for making life just a whole lot more fun for us all and I want to personally Thank You for making my so-called life a helluva lot more interesting as just the one example above bears out,
Rock On!!!
p.s. Can't wait to read your G'n'R concert review!
It's not often that a website survives 5 years, much less thrives!
Hopefully it will continue to do so. And THANK YOU for all the effort you put in to this!
There you are, Boy! Don't be such a stranger. We miss The nirVanas on here, man! Rock On, Metal Brother!
p.s. Say hello to Charm City for me and I will letchya know when I'm rollin' thru town probably sometime in April, if you are around!
Britt
