Escape the Fate: Glam or Not?

Escape the Fate sure look Glam... but are they? I must admit, I'm not a rabid fan of the band but my husband loves them, and he keeps walking around the house muttering their songs. The other day, he was watching their video for "Issues" and I stopped and looked over his shoulder. The video reminded me of something Motley Crue would make these days. And the drummer definitely looks like he wants to be Slash. I have to give them props, "Issues' is catchy. They played Rock on the Range last month and drew a massive crowd over at the F.Y.E. side stage, so people love 'em.

Oh, and did I bury the lede? Back when Escape the Fate had a different singer, they sort of re-did Van Halen's classic "Hot For Teacher" video. The Escape the Fate song used in the video is "Situations." Watching the Van Halen and Escape the Fate videos back to back is pretty cool.

dont think they are Glam - they have some of the look but not really the sound - i did prefer the first singer also in the hot for teacher like vid.

I watched the school video first and kinda liked it.They all looked like the Crue and Slash. The Issues video was cool, but they looked less glam. They def. dont have the glam sound at all. I can see how they are popular, but I cannot get into it.

I really am into old Escape The Fate (Ronnie era) but new escape the fate are pretty good. Issues definitly has a big glam chorus in my opinion. They are a bridge between glam and post-hardcore in my opinion. They are relasing their new video this week and im pretty excited... haha

Glam...? NOT.

NOT. This is exactly the kind of crap that gets played on my local radio stations. Everything I hate about "modern" rock rolled into one package.

Their sound is more punk/emo than it is glam, but they definitely have some glam attitude and it's great to see a band having fun in a video. Their sound reminds me a lot of My Chemical Romance or The Used.

Nah not so much, sure they look glamish, but they dont have that glam sound to me. Kind of the same goes with Black Veil Brides, even though I think their new album is good, because it has no screaming whatsoever in it, and it has a glam feel, its just more modern rock then anything with a pinch of glam thrown in.

Saw this band opening for Bullet For My Valentine... not impressed.

These guys, Black Tide and Black Veil Brides are the Tuff, Trixter and Kingofthehill of their scene.

They can be catchy with Glam Metalesque choruses at times, but overall, they are Modern Rock, as you kids like to call it.

I actually kinda like 'em, whatever you wanna call 'em. Got 'em on my Nu Metal playlist.
