Merry Kixmas, Ya'll

Each year, Kix plays a few "Merry Kixmas" shows. One show was held Dec. 21 at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I wish I had been there because it looks like it was a blast!

Just got back from the KIX show in Brunswick, Maryland... Killer show. I got a preview of the new stuff. Looks like the new KIX release will not be out until early summer. Brian said they hope to release it right before M3.... I'll tell ya... great stuff. Can't wait....

I'm a Kixonian from Maryland. Absolutely love these guys, having seen 'em over 30 times as KIX and even more if you count the years before they when they were known at first as The Generators and then as The Shooz!

But, honestly, over the last several years, they've fallen into a bit of a rut with their set list. Considering I've seen 'em at least twice over the last several years combined with all the times I've seen 'em since the beginning, you might see where my frustration might lay with the sameness of their sets.

Watching some of their best tunes, namely, "Rock And Roll Overdose", "Luv-a-holic" and "For Shame", for example, getting squeezed out of their set list for the sake of keeping the monotonous 11 minute plus saga, "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah", in, as funny as Whiteman's long rap stuck in the middle of it is, is disappointing to say the least.

If I wanted to hear a long standup comedy routine, I would be going to a comedy club, not a KIX show.

KIX will be playing SATURDAY night at M3 in 2013. WASP will be playing on Friday.

Interesting news, Rock-It! I'm glad to see the promoters are finally acknowledging KIX as more than just a local favorite!

So far, things are lining up pretty good for M3 this coming year.

It was M3 2010, I believe when the lineup became untoppable -- Headliners on the last night -- in succession: Kix, Vince Neil, Cinderella and Scorpions.

Even the halfa*sed comedic relief of Neil somehow added to the mayhem, with Neil even coming out later during the Scorps set to assist a flu infected Klause Meine with vocals on "Another Piece Of Meat"

Insane!

It's gonna be an big Metal Mountain to climb to try and top that Line-up though I will say, RATT, alone last year certainly provided somewhat of a rivalry to the year previous.

If W.A.S.P. really is lined up that's huge to begin with. I look forward to who's going to be added now!

I too am a Kix fan from the Shooze days - in their defense of setlists (I'm disappointed too) they really only have 4 albums to pull from (they rarely pull out gems from Cool Kids and Show Business, and almost never from Thunderground). second, they always tried to keep the same basic songs since didn't play together very often and i'm sure rarely practiced, and 3rdly, now they are playing for a more diverse US crowd, so they feel like they need to play the "hits" more, we've been spoiled in this area since they have played here pretty regularly since the very beginning (minus a few years there) The new material will def spice things up a bit in the setlist!

a few of my predictions since these artists have already annouced touring the US in the spring 2013: tom keifer, shotgun messiah, love/hate, twisted sister.

now there, along with wasp is the line-up.

Shotgun Messiah would be HUGE!!!, Fletch!

Not2Hi! Just a couple years back, I saw KIX perform "Rock And Roll Overdose", "Luv-a-Holic" AND "For Shame", besides the usual suspects, and it just made the set! If I run into Ronnie, I'm going to tell him to add that stuff back in. I say, Ronnie, because he actually listens and remembers people's names!

I had emailed Brian a while back to play "9-1-1" and "Book to Hypnotize" which they did play at a few shows late last year.
