Aerosmith is touring with Slash this summer. Yesterday, Aerosmith played a special gig at the Whisky A Go-Go to make the announcement "official." Video of that performance is below.

Here are the tour dates. You'll find me in the crowd at Riverbend in Cincinnati. Looks like top tier tickets are around $200 a head, which definitely ain't cheap but I guess that's the going rate these days.

July 13 - McLennan Park - Kitchener, ON

20 dates in roughly 60 days. They certainly aren't going to overwork themselves, are they? Then again,at $200 for nosebleed seats,I assume you don't have to. Had every intention of going to this, but the closest they're coming to me is Atlantic City, which is about 3 1/2 hours away.At 2 bills minimum for shitty seats, and with that ride through hellacious Philly traffic, I guess I won't be seeing them yet again. Until all is said and done,it'd end up costing me at least $750. Nope.........

I'm with ya Gary. the closest they're coming to me is Inglewood which is a good 120 miles North of here. I don't drive, but I wouldn't expect anybody to battle L.A. traffic to get me there -- not to mention the ticket prices. Oh well, at least I got to see them back in the day.

200 as the cheapest??? No thanks. I was thinking about traveling to see them because I never have before. But some bands don't realize that fans are working class and not rich haha.

Waaaaay overpriced. I'll pass

I believe the top tier reference is for good seats and not nosebleed. Tickets for the show at DTE in the Detroit area are $149.50, 89.50 and 49.50 for pavillion and $36.50 for lawn plus all of sevice charges. Might want to check your local venue first before deciding not to go.

WHERE was Brad Whitford?

Because he wasn't at that Whiskey gig.

Ace,
I think I read Brad was otherwise engaged on the Hendrix Experience tour. He'll be on the road with Aerosmith, which is key. I love Brad's guitar work!

Yes, tickets vary by seat level and city - it's not a blanket $200, but the seats do seem higher in my venue of choice. :(

Yeah, Huh-uh-lo-oh! Top Tier does not mean literally the top tier of the arena. Uh, der! "Top Tier" means "at the highest level".

I'm shootin' for either Jones Beach or Atlanta. Wish there were more options nearer to Orlando.

Even if tickets were cheaper they're not even close to me. It pisses me off because I really wanna see Slash too.

Dj: don't fret just yet. I'm sure this is just thier first leg of the tour. Most likely, they will add a second or even a third leg to their itinerary and it should include stops nearer to you.

Been listening to the almighty aerosmith all day. Please pist (tmz) style. Your top 5 aerosmith songs; either old, new or combined.

So many overlook Whitford's contributions, in favor of Joe & Steven. In reality, it's Brad who does all the heavy lifting guitar-wise, While Joe does all the cool posing. They are 2 puzzle pieces that fit together, each essential in their own way.

Very observant, Ace. Whitford certainly does a lot of the heavy lifting, but in all of the times I've seen them (9 times), Joe does more than pose, especially toward the end of each performance, where it's been my experience to witness him absolutely blaze 'til the venue hits the lights and pulls the plug!

MB!
In no way did I wish to imply that cool posing was ALL that JP did. It's just that in Aerosmith, Brad kind of just stands there & blazes, while Joe blazes, AND does all the cool poses. (I'm all for the posing while playing... look at my background!) I do kind of laugh a little at the following clip, Joe still looking cool, while struggling to come close to the covering the licks he didn't really play on the Aerosmith recording of the same song. (Steve Hunter played guitar on the "Get Your Wings" classic track) And Brad? He just holds it all together! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4qC7RMMjs0
