Bret Michaels Recovers From Health Scare

On Thursday night, Bret Michaels fell ill during a show in New Hampshire and had to leave the stage during the act. The show ended and Bret was rushed to the hospital. Turns out he was sick from the flu and diabetes.
Via Facebook, Bret's PR team explained that the singer was "violently ill" after he left the stage. Doctors determined he was suffering from insulin shock and severe low blood sugar plus exhaustion/dehydration/fever and the novo flu virus.
Basically, Bret was trying to do a concert with the stomach bug. Just think back to the last time you had stomach bug. You probably couldn't leave the bathroom floor. I can't imagine Bret trying to jump around with that plus fighting a severe diabetes issue to boot. I wish him well.
When this story was unfolding Thursday night and I saw it on Twitter, I thought "Which news organization will call Bret the former Poison frontman first?" To the best of my knowledge, that award goes to the Associated Press. In every report, the AP incorrectly referred to Bret as Poison's former frontman and it just hacks me off. Probably irrational on my part, but still.

that being said...I wish bret the fullest and speediest recovery. Today, wife and I took the kids to wildwater kingdom (dorney park), and while there, we talked about bret making the news for this. she even wondered aloud if it might be a publicity stunt.
I said that not only is it NOT a publicity stunt, but bret will make up the concert to New Hampshire at his expense, if necessary. that, is the guy he is. moreover, I told her the story when I saw bret perform at the crocodile rock in Allentown and that dickhead owner (according to bret) refused to pay him. bret still came on stage and performed (albeit a short set) because he didn't want to "disappoint" us fans and he will let his attorneys "go after" (bret's words) [crocodile rock owner] joe clark for money owed.
thank you bret for remaining true. peace/health! and rock on!
Again, while I try to be and present as altruistic, there is only so much a person can do and money is (unfortunately) a large part of that equation. Case in point...I received my masters degree based on the selfless, altruistic acts of others. I was wish I had the money some foundations do in order to advance other noble causes, but I don't.
I wrote about bret making up the concert at his expense because he can afford to do so and it would present him in a better light to those who believe he might have canceled his gig as a publicity stunt.
Hell, if eddie and dave...ah what the fuck. They both had a lot to gain and lose if they didn't reconcile. They built van halen. Mb mentored me briefly, that's all.
