Nikki Talks Pyro

It seems unreal, but Motley Crue is nearing the end of The Final Tour. The band's last show is New Year's Eve. Live Nation recently interviewed Nikki Sixx about the band's pyro and roller coaster. Pretty cool stuff. I'm trying to not think about the band's final show, it makes me sad.

But, oh yeah, the boyz in MC signed contracts at their press conference cementing their word that "this is it"...goodbye forever, world! But let us just remember...when has Motley Crue played by their or anyone else's rules. Nikki and Co. will be at another press conference in a few years presenting their new syllabus and reporters, bloggers and posters alike will be printing praise, scorn, excitement, "time to hang it up" headlines and the phase that really chaps my ass..."They are only doing it for the money". And strangely, most comments will have merit...some will even be spot on.
So to wrap it up, yes, Motely will be back in about 5 years with a huge arena tour that will rival the upcoming "rumored" wink-wink, GNR shows.
And I am with you and Jeff (and numerous others who have posted on the topic): I want to hear what Mars is capable of freed of the strictures of the Crue. If Corabi is involved (even partially), so much the better. But Mars maintained a level of integrity and class, in the face of true challenges, throughout his time with the Crue. I wish none of them ill; but I truly wish Mars well.

In regards to The Final Tour...
I actually think Mars is a big part of the reason they're calling it quits given the fragility of his health. It's gotta be hellish on him to tour so rigorously. Still, I'm with all here who believe he'll make a helluva solo album. But I don't think he'll tour that much off of it. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he tours at all.
Let's face it, Crüe would not have been able to command sellout shows with higher ticket prices had they not packaged this as a farewell tour. That set them up to make the maximum amount of $$$ they could and go out with a bang. It's too bad they didn't go out with even more of a bang with an incredible farewell album of new studio material. I'm with all on here who believe this is it, again, the deciding factor being Mars as well as what must be sheer burnout from playing the same sh*t over and over again. It's hard to remain inspired if you're going to embark on such an uninspired quest for so long. We may settle for it, even like it, but it's gotta still s*ck for them no matter how much they get off on the crowd.
I'm with DJ... As I have also said all along, Neil should go beyond playing the Crüe hits and his covers and do the entire "Exposed" album. Also, that gimmick he does in the middle of his shows where he takes a break while Blando sings "Whole Lotta Love" so he can take a break has got to go.
Don't get me wrong, Blando can sing his a*s off and is a helluva guitar player but it's Neil we want to see.
As for Sixx, I find that Sixx AM thing completely boring.
I actually think Lee may surprise us by forming a new Metal Supergroup of some kind. That industrial electronic drum sh*t gets boring pretty fast and when his sales tank even worse than before the last time he tried it, he won't be able to resist the offers that come his way. I could even see him sitting in for Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick once in awhile, since he sights Cheap Trick as a major influence and it's Neilsen's son playing drums for them now.
Bon Voyage, Crüe, you beloved representatives of the degenerate Rock & Roll mentality inside us all, the only difference being they got a lot richer preying off of it than us living through them.
Motley really surprised me. Vince seemed to actually try, He sang actual words & not just every 3rd word....I will totally give him passing marks for this one. I honestly didn't think he had it in him anymore. Tommy was the same incredible drummer he always has been, & Nikki, when you could hear his still overly compressed bass parts, was fine. There's definitely some guitar parts that are samples, because even a near cripple like Mick can't play rhythm under his own leads. And his solo was pure pitchbender noise. But for the most part, he was passable. I'm surprised he can actually stand, much less play guitar.
They really seem to be TRYING on this last few shows, going out swinging... Good going, Guys. I applaud you on this one. And the pyro & lights? They definitely threw everything & the kitchen sink in it... totally giving KISS a run for their money & blowing everything possible up. Lot of fire, lots of lights, lots of explosions... A really nicely done show.
