Yes, This Looks Awesome

I just need to convince my husband. It won't be an easy sell.

Next October...

Lots of bands I've seen & like on this, but I'm going to come right out & say it. This looks a LOT like the monthly schedule at my local 400 person capacity rock club. Nice, but not a single act that makes this a "must attend" event.

Looks pretty good!

Vixen
Slaughter
Faster Pussycat
John Corabi
Tuff
Adler

I've seen Slaughter & Faster Pussycat in concert before but I've always wanted to see the rest in person.
I've own full concerts of the other 4 on DVD (except for Adler), so I know they all put on great shows.
This is hands down the best (w/just those 6 bands alone) lineup I've seen in years.

The rest of the lineup really means nothing to me except for maybe Loudness "Rock N Roll Crazy Nights" (I think that was the name of the song?) was always cool...
& I always loved the Firehouse song "Don't Treat Me Bad" but the rest of their stuff I always found to be embarrassingly bad.

Jakki - Don't Treat Me Bad was my first favorite Firehouse song. I even had the cassette single of that one lol.

I bought their first 2 CD's and to this day, I listen to them a lot. I like every single song on them. So I actually thought they were pretty good though I've never seen them live.

I lost track of them after their second CD though.

Hey Rita!
:)

I've actually seen Firehouse in concert before & I was pretty impressed considering I am not a fan of them (except for the song "Don't Treat Me Bad").
They put on a good live show but I'm just not a fan of their style of music.
It seems too safe/family friendly for me.
I like my glam metal to be a little dirty & sleazy at the very least.

Well, Ace... You really should go... Ya get 'em all at once on a ship. I know you would have a ball. But, alas, you have a point...

No true headliners!

I mean, come on!...

Winery Dogs in the first slot? That is just so completely and utterly laughable. Is this actually a Scientology Cruise in disguise courtesy bass creeper, Billy Sheehan?

The only real reasons to go on this cruise are as follows:

Britny Fox, KIX, Vain, Lynch Mob, Babylon A.D., L.A. Guns, Steelheart, Firehouse, The Quireboys, Slaughter and Lies, Deceit & Treachery. And, unfortunately, I don't think one of them is 100% scab free!

If only they had just a few more bands worth seeing like Junkyard, Poison minus the hick plus some more of the bands from the East Coast Cruise like Kingdom Come would help, as well.

Sure, it looks like fun, but where are the REAL acts to add on here? I mean, what the hell? Why not just get Junkyard, Wildside and Pretty Boy Floyd. Even THAT would be more Rock & Roll than these also rans who I've seen a bagillion times!

I will say this, though... Thank The Metal Gods, as*clowns TeSLUG aren't on it! I may go on this on that fact alone!

Rita, once again, proof we are meant to be! Um... friends... Forgot you were still married... Firehouse is one of my faves, believe it or not... Jakki is right... You simply MUST see them live! I've seen 'em 4 times, the last as recently as last year and they are flawless in their performance! Snare and the guitarist are particularly, almost supernaturally amazing!

I love Firehouse for a lot of reasons...pretty cool lineup. Slaughter/Firehouse was actually my first ever show. Kix, Faster Pussycat, and John Corabi would be great to see too. Quiet Riot died with Kevin though...it's sad they're still beating the dead horse.

Metalboy! - You and I are like that Seinfeld episode where Jerry falls for Janeane Garofalo and realizes its because she is the female version of himself. Scary lol!

Am I missing something? Not sure what Billy Sheehan's religious affiliation has to do with his music and/or bass playing skills. Hey Metalboy! which religions are acceptable for musicians to be affiliated with and which are not? Should we all ask before listening to a CD or attend a concert? I'm not defending any religion, just seems odd to continually point out anyone's religion or beliefs with regards to music.

Scientology is not a religion, JAT.

They are brainwashing killers and that's obviously what Sheehan has done to you with his overplaying of bland mediocre hookless humorless edgeless middle of the road crap.

Hate to be a downer, but . . . Jack T. Ripper is right. Scientology is a religion. I think (I may be wrong) that I first noted Sheehan's affiliation many months back.

It is a religion in two senses: governmentally-sanctioned and philosophically-developed. It is recognized as the first in some countries and not in others. How it is categorized as regards the second is a matter of popular, and pertinent, debate. Older isn't better and newer isn't worse. Who founded what and said what is open for dispute. But Scientology fits the description regardless.

So the question is: what do you think about it? I tend to test it against William James's _Varieties of Human Experience_ (1901/02). I trust that no one here cares about that reference or my thoughts on it (plural: the concept of the religion).
