Police Search The Home Of Gene Simmons Regarding Internet Crime - He Is Innocent

According to Entertainment Tonight, police searched the home of Gene Simmons for a possible Internet crime, but Gene and his family are not suspects.

The LAPD Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force searched Simmons home Thursday night. The family cooperated with police. Police think the alleged crime happened while KISS was on tour last summer - and therefore Gene and his family weren't even home. It is definitely scary to think someone was in Gene's home and searching for child porn. People are sick.

I went back and forth over whether I should even post about this but I decided I needed to just so I could reinforce Gene's innocence - because every headline I saw basically insinuated Gene's guilt. Ridiculous.

I agree. Every headline I saw made it seem as if Gene had done something wrong. Several paragraphs in, it was mentioned they were not home at the time.
Maybe it was the subway guy.

Such a non-issue as far as Gene & the family are concerned. Still NOT fun that someone shows up at the door w/ a search warrant.

The new America via the media is guilty until proven innocent. As for the Subway guy oper8n, I sincerely hope that while in jail the term " foot long" takes on an entirely new meaning for him...

Have you seen Gene lately? He is off the charts on the creepy meter!

Personally there is nothing worse as far as I'm concerned than being labeled a child molester/child pornographer. Can't think of anything worse to have your name associated with. Bkallday...to respond to such a post with calling him creepy is shameful. He was being used by some media outlets as a way to make headlines for literally the worst (well one of the worst) things to be accused of.

JAT, you are barking up a very haggard tree. Try as you might, you just can win. You must be a PC goon pushing some feminist agenda.

Now, with the sarcasm meter turned off, to return to the topic: Simmons is a popular slam amongst those who find his branding ideas sad or his band's music tired and worn. That would include me. But I don't wish aspersions on him that don't suit his tried and true proclivities. That sort of point escapes the nuance meter used by some on this site.

So, JAT, well said generally, though with one caveat: the accusation is far less in terms of pain than that which is done by those guilty of the actual act. Case now in point: Fogle. He deserves the acidic mockery, penny-candy jokes, and scorn.

True, Gary. The media rushes to conclusions not in evidence. Lives are tarnished in the search for click-bait worth headlines and in the hasty assemblage of poorly sourced news. And very few seem to apologize when a name is dragged through the mud for no good reason.

But, JAT and Gary, we all feed the beast that makes it so easy to equivocate when talking about Simmons and Fogle. Every click is a small tick on the ballot of pop culture. I do it as well. Well, not all of us do it. Bkallday pumps out truth like he pumps out reps in his Panic Room/Box. Bulletproof. What issue the opinion of "creepy" when it is slathered in the heady dressing of fact? Not that bkallday claimed it as such. But he was using a meter of some sort.

Eloquently stated Him. 2 thumbs up from the Pennsylvania peanut gallery. Lol. We do all feed the proverbial beast, either consciously or subconsciously,by continuing to click on the pirhanna's websites, blogs,TV and radio shows,or buying their rag sheets. You know them, the kind that exclusively feed off of others misfortunes and woes. It's a slippery slope most of us slide down, due to our inherent curious natures (and subliminal need to see the mighty "knocked down a peg") as human beings.

That being said,as JAT said, to me,there is no lower form of life on the planet than a child predator. Fogel has pleaded guilty already. (He was said to be using hookers to recruit early teenaged girls for him) So to me,like I said, I hope his cell mate was blessed with not a 6" but a foot long "sandwich",and feels the same way as most do towards men who prey on young kids....8-)

This thread has certainly taken a turn for the worse. Wow...

At what point said turn, bkallday? At what point? Loving fans of your posts want to know!

Totally get your point, Gary, even if I wouldn't phrase it that way. All I wanted to make clear was that the accusation and the act are two different things. Being labeled a monster is one thing. Being one is another. And, to be clear, I am not accusing JAT of equivocating. I simply wanted to point out that I supported the spirit of his post.

I, for one, wouldn't want Simmons slammed for something he never did. On the other hand, Fogle deserves all the criticism and karma he has coming to him. To hurt a child--while purporting to help them--is beyond repugnant.

Gary: where in PA is this peanut gallery (my apologies if you have stated the location before)? Spent some good years in Pittsburgh, deep in the heart of Pennsyltucky. Love that state, if not for the fact that I simply can't put up with the humidity after being a West/ Coast/Northwest guy all my life.
