Hell Froze Over

Fire up the rumor mill. Maybe a Guns n' Roses reunion will happen after all!

But the path back to a band is a long one, either touring or recording or both. I will be interested to see how this plays out.
Slash pretty much has closed that book & is doing something entirely different.
All this does is keeps Steve Adler hopeful that he might play someplace bigger than the Whiskey, once again.
Saw em in like 1989 and they were done by then anyway.
Only Popcorn Izzy and Duff make it complete.
For the amount they would charge I can see LA Guns, Kix, armored saint, Tesla and YnT headline and care about the set they play.
This reunion is for peeps revisiting their glory days passed by. I'm still in mine so to speak.
I won't hold my breath and I won't save money for a reunion (album, tour, or otherwise).
I like when old bands put out new music. Yeah, I like the classics, but I like to hear some fresh stuff too.
Cheap Seats, as HIM hints, there's a helluva lot more to Stradlin than solid rhythm work. Hell, the guy WROTE half of "Appetite For Destruction", for chrissakes!
Rita, don't know if you've read it but the review I wrote here years ago regarding the last time I saw Crüe gave pretty much the same account of your synopsis above... They were killer AND Neil nailed it, unlike the 3 previous times I saw them. Looks like you got the luck of the draw!
I loved the most current version of GnR live (wrote, and defended, and corrected, the review on this very site). I have issues with _Chinese Democracy_. But I still find Axl to be that sort of frontman--Neil, Roth, etc.--that galvanizes critics (myself included) because they made so many memories for so many of us.
While Slash's sound is a part of the picture, it wasn't the only frame. Like I said, Izzy brought a lot more to the table than some credit him for doing, Axl amplified it, and the rest fell into place and made it work.
_UYI_ I and II were a sign of bloat. But many bands couldn't beat that bloat if they tried. In some strange way, I don't think a reunited band could do better than Axl and Co. did in Vegas recently. And they certainly can't capture the glories of the past. Together, though, in some form they might sell more tickets.
Still, mending fences isn't making albums. If (and I do mean if) they reform, let's hope they try for a spark in the bottle rather than a cash grab. No band owes us anything. But we feel cheated when they don't give us their best.
Made me a bit sad to think this could actually be the end for them. So glad I got a chance to Alice Cooper too. He blew me away. All in all, a great show. Catch it if you can.
Back to Axl, I also agree Dj. But now the rumors start, with fans on other sites getting euphoric or apoplectic at the thought of a reunion . . . based on scant details and rumors.
If they did do a festival like Soundwave, that strikes me as a cash grab. If they did a proper tour, I'd be interested. But I could only imagine the prices (given what other legacy acts were charging this summer). Still, those same aforementioned fans, best be careful what they wish for . . . as I said earlier, catching lighting twice is a rarity.
Perhaps the best idea is to take a page from the Sex Pistols and do a "Filthy Lucre" tour, owning the sheer shill involved.
