Chris Holmes Performs Live, Looks Bad

So Chris Holmes did a gig the other week at a bar in Scotland. He sounds good but looks terrible. The thing is, his playing and guitar tone sound so good to me here, but maybe I'm biased because I like all those old W.A.S.P. songs. Here's some footage from September 28 at Bannerman's Bar in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Still, they are KILLING IT. And though the band should adopt a personal hygiene policy as Ace describes, in their defense, it looks to me like the place their playing is hot as hell and they're toward the end of the gig, since all four of them are completely drenched.
Holmes may look terrible but he looks sober and seems to be making that point to the world by keeping well hydrated with a bottle of water.
He is still one of my favorite guitar players out there. Hope he continues to play for a long time.
He is one odd duck. Not sure I will go to him for vox lessons or his take on the current rock scene in America (dig around if you dare . . . it is a lovely story he tells). But when you hear him you know it is him playing guitar. A damn shame he isn't involved in something better suited to showcase his talents.
Final thought: imagine the smell in that place! Haggis, sweat, and several doses of regret.

Yikes. That sounds very unlikely. And Riley is still stirring the pot regarding Guns. Not sure what to make of this re: Guns or WASP. Thoughts?
I just so happened to go see my old friend, Randy Piper & Steve Reilly on Thursday night when they performed in Las Vegas with the Sin City Sinners. Afterwards, I was talking to Randy and he tells me Chris is clean, happy & enjoying living where he is, in Europe.
I asked him about the articles about a possible reunion w/ Blackie & Chris, and all he could say was "Never Say Never"... Knowing them all as I do, I think the biggest roadblocks are convincing Blackie to go back to playing bass (an instrument he refers to as "The Tool Of Ignorance" ) and the possibly bigger roadblock of him having to give up a bit of control to put that lineup back together..
Here's a bit of video from the "Sinners" gig, w/ Piper & Reilly.
