Michael Monroe, 'Goin' Down With The Ship' -- New Video

The king of Glam is back at it with a new video. Michael Monroe just dropped his new video for "Goin' Down With The Ship."
The song is taken from Monroe's latest studio album Blackout States. Real Glam people!

But I have to say (and please don't savage me for it): it has the sound of a cross between the Gin Blossoms and The Replacements (their later, less heralded, stuff in particular), the former of whom I would rarely listen to and the latter a band I quite enjoy. That doesn't sound like a compliment. But I mean it as such.
Monroe has earned the right to free passage where ever he chooses to roam. Lived, and living, it.
p.s. HIM -- "You Be Me For Awhile And I'll Be You"! I saw The Replacements in the early 80's before they made it big, in the gym of St. John's University in Annapolis, Maryland point blank, and by "point blank", I mean Westerberg could have handed me his guitar (though I wouldn't know what to do with it, which should surprise no one here), as there was no stage and we were dancing -- actually, the whole gym was dancing -- right next to the band. The best part is, I had no idea who they were, as they were still the darlings of college radio with only one album out.
That said, can you hear what I am saying about the song? It was the oddest thing listening to it. Like I said, enjoyed it. But it felt oddly . . . well, as I said previously.

MB. Cool story!
fletch. Hopefully you get the axe signed. MM strikes me as the kind of dude that'll gladly sign it if you can get hold of him....
it reminds me to the Dogs D`Amour "Flameboy" video, and a little of Backyard Babies "the Clash", i dont know why, but in this video in particular.. much more Iphone 6 slows motions.
Great video from a genius/living leyend of glam.
Remember to listen "death jail or RNR"

Hanoi Rocks has always been an interesting study. The albums leading up to Two Steps From the Move were all over the place. Some punk, some new wave, Kinks-ish, glam, etc. I think they found what they wanted to be w/ Two Steps. But then they got derailed with the death of Razzle.
I just wonder if that had not happened and they recorded a follow up to Two Steps would we be putting Hanoi Rocks in the same category as Motley, Guns, etc. It's a "what if" game, but still interesting to me.
It seems like they were in the que, so to speak, from the record company's standpoint. H*ll, even the title, "Two Steps from the Move" could be taken as an indication of something great about to happen (among other things one could infer).
I wonder if Ace knows why they didn't keep going, though I'm sure the tragedy of Razzle's death must have been overwhelming.
Redemption for Corabi... Ya gotta love Mars for not skipping a beat and getting Corabi. Though we tend to herald him on high here, Corabi's someone who's pretty much been scraping by since Neil rejoined Crüe. As soon as Crüe called it quits, Mars wastes no time, bring in Corabi and sends a message to REAL Rock n' Rollers everywhere... IT'S TIME TO ROCK!
It's like Mars is laying down the gauntlet to Nikki Sixx, Gn'R, Van Halen, KISS and anyone else who has a hope in H*ll of ever doing something legit again, saying, "GET REAL!"
Of all people, it just may be Mick Mars who saves Rock n' Roll!
p.s. Thanks for posting this, Al... And thanks for the extra tidbit, Jeff!
MB: My above post was real. Jeremiah's behavior as described above is not thee exception, but rather, his rule. I have so many examples, that when I saw the condition of the guitar, I thought, 'par for [his] course". People generally do not put up with this bullshit on an almost daily basis, but I guess that I'm the exception to the rule, because I do...I have to, until, at least, he's (alice cooper) 18! Then, he's all yours. Trust me...if he does not stop, you'll be seeing him in a few years, just like val and just like a few others that I've tried to help to little or no avail. VM: buckle up, it's a bumpy ride. The rest of your current staff...oh well.
