Rock On The Range 2017 Sells Out Already

This is pretty unreal.
Rock on the Range, set for mid May in Columbus, Ohio has already sold out. You'll recall that Metallica is the headliner. The festival also just added the band Live. I was going to try and see the Metallica night but I never got around to get a ticket, so now that's up in the air I guess. There's always the secondary market. This is great news for live music - and also a sign that we're all ready for warm weather and concert season.
Just 75 days until spring!

But Live? As in Throwing Copper? The band that seemed to be fronted by Andre Agassi (sans wig)? Ugh. I see a steady nostalgia creep thing happening. When a band that hit its peak (more like a wink . . . that's for you, Ace) in '94 is a "must see" you can see the tectonic plates moving. This is the predicted (no, natural) process: the "in"-then music is now ceding its place to the "in"-new-then music.
As with rock radio (esp. the classic sort), one generational genre of consequence is giving way to another. Recall the first time you heard Ozzy on a classic rock station. Thus tolls another bell. But Live? Really? Not even a stab at Afghan Whigs or perhaps Killing Joke? I kid. I know that isn't in the picture.
But good for RotR. They sold out. Interpret that how you will (giggle).
Aside from Metallica, as I mentioned before, the only bands worth seeing at this clusterf*ck of an excuse for a Rock festival are Zakk Sabbath, Offspring, The Pretty Reckless and Rival Sons.
The other 56, yep, that's right, 56 are total yawners!
p.s. Very funny, HIM... and I quote... '...the "in" - then music is now ceding it's place to the "in"-new-then music." Now, THAT's frickin' perspective!
I took a nap in my 6th Row seat during Soundgarden when I saw them open for Guns N' Roses at Madison Square Garden in 1991.
Korn doesn't rock either. BORING!
OFFSPRING Rules!
To equate them to Gin Blossoms or 4 Non Blondes is the REAL lunacy on display here right now, BK.
