I really dug SPREAD EAGLE and LEATRHERWOLF back in the day, would be curious to know how many original guys are left in these bands.
In fact, it's amazing to see Smashed Gladys on the bill, they're album, "Social Intercourse", one of my all time faves, yet I stupidly never saw them live when I had many an opportunity as they were an NYC band when I lived there!
AND Princess Pang! Another one I missed and here would be the chance to see the original line-up!
I was, however, fortunate to see Spread Eagle point blank back in 1990 at The Cat Club in NYC and, needless to say, they blew the doors off the place! "Switchblade Seranade", indeed!
I also saw D.A.D. at The Cat Club in 1989 off their stellar album "No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims".
I've also seen Diemonds, one of THE greatest shows I've ever witnessed (point blank, natch), which took place at Sonoma's several years ago for the M3 Pre-Party with Station opening. They blew the doors off that place! Come to think of it, that show was put together by a dude who was a regular commenter here we haven't heard from for awhile. I think his name is Dave (?). Dude, where the h*ll are you?
TREAT are also excellent. Though their first few albums are classic Glam-ish 80's Hard Rock, they never really toured the U.S. and this would be a great opportunity to catch them.
Last but not least, Leatherwolf, another incredible band I missed back in the day, yet I bought their first two albums when they came out. In fact, I have ALL 7 of these bands' early albums!
Now, if I could just figure out how to get to the U.K. in August!
But, Metalboy!, why not go for broke? Win that damn lottery, buy the party barge and tour bus . . . and spring for first class tickets for all of us BBG! faithful. We can pay you back. You know we are good for it!
Also, the AOR/80's Hard Rock/Glam Metal/Melodic Rock Nerds over on heavyharmonies.com are soon to post their Top 10's. Keep your eyes and ears peeled. Always a treasure trove of what actually happened in 2016, making us all look ignorant. Yes, I said all! Except maybe, JAT!
I'll let you know when they post unless someone beats me to it. BBG! Forever!
