Vince Neil Performs In Tulsa

It's time we have a talk about Vince Neil. He performed in Tulsa, Oklahoma recently. The show was comprised of all the Motley Crue hits he likes to perform. Now, there's nothing wrong with that and the guy is entitled to make a living and he looks like he's having fun. That said, I'm worried about his health. He just doesn't look good these days. In fact, I was honestly startled by the videos below. I wish him well and I hope everything is okay in his personal life.

Vinnie choosing to live full time in Vegas, with its 24 hour built in temptation, is akin to letting Jerry Sandusky live at Sister Mary's home for wayward boys. No good is going to come out of it. That being said, here's some redone Motley songs for Vince...

Shout At The Devil(s food cake)
Slice of Your Pie (and everybody else's)
S.O.S. (Sauce On The Side)
Kickstart My Heart full of Bacon
Without You (dedicated to a 12 pack of Corona)
Into The Fryer (Dokken Cover)

Awesome Gary - Thanks for a great laugh on a Friday - Gluttony is all I can think of when I saw Vince - Wow Kickstart his heart is what the EMT's will be doing if he doesn't make some changes. But heck Vince has lived way longer than I ever thought he would and I didn't know he was in Tulsa or I would have drug myself over there only to be disappointed I am sure.....

I've defended Vince in the past and still do to the point that he still sounds pretty good, wants to perform and puts on a good show. But damn he looks bad, if he continues to not take care of himself he's got five years tops... But if he gets back into shape and tweaks his voice just a little he could easily go another ten or fifteen. And if so he could release some killer music and play some stuff off Exposed and some Motley stuff no problem. But it looks like he's in bad shape...that being said I'm gonna see him at the end of the year, hopefully he delivers.

I could say something bad about Vince,
But why bother? Let the video of his bloated carcass do it for me.

what a chip on your shoulder you always have.

Watched two minutes. Energetic on Kickstart. Sounded like Vince. Playing to a big crowd. Giving people what they want. He is probably seeing a doc that is controlling his high blood pressure and looming or present heart disease. Diabetes is another concern. But with meds and continuing to perform and do what he loves....honestly is looks pretty much like 1/3 of all Americans today. I'm sure we probably have a few pots on this site saying names about the kettle.

KC: Thank you. and for the record, if you like, re-read my comments. I didn't partake and am quite surprised at some who did and not surprised by others. hence, re-read my first post, and then my second post.

DAMN! Not good. I saw Motley twice on the final tour and he looked and sounded much better then. I see he's back to singing every third word again, as well. Oh well, I guess I'll see/hear it for myself next Thursday in NJ.

You got some choices. You can be surprised at the sudden death of Cornell, or you can be shocked at the slow crawl of Neil. Take your pick.

That sounds harsh. But it isn't. Living in the public eye, you are subject to a bit more scrutiny. And mockery. And unfair commentary. That is your lot in life. That isn't a call to burden stars with undue intrusions. But it is a reminder that they live the life they live (and/or lived) because they chose to live it in the harsh spotlight.

That some of us would giggle-skip right to the obvious--you must be fat, so what are you doing commenting?--points to a fundamental disjunction in the whole point of all this commentary: what of it? I doubt the 75% suggestion. But, again, what of it? Do our jobs require us to hold to a particular BMI? Are we subject to, and make our money off of, our figures?

Oh, but wait. Why did I mention Cornell then? Simple. Demons are demons. But they haunt us in different ways. And all are subject to consideration. While I was willing to bemoan the loss of Cornell's life before I knew he was intoxicated, I would bemoan Neil's death if it was to happen for any and all reasons. And I wouldn't question either for their motives. I would, however, suggest that the way they look influences the way they impact each of us. And that is unfair. I know that. Neil seems to be living as he wants. Cornell seems to have been having trouble doing the same. Who is the better man? That is a dumb question. But one man is dead. The other is living. The latter person has a chance to do something better by himself and his fans. The former can't. And, sadly, none of us have any chance of telling Neil that he is lucky to be alive. Thing is, none of us can tell Cornell that either.

I won't pull straws. And I won't pull punches. But suggesting that we should be held to an artist's standards reeks of wanting to be more than we are. At the same time, when I now think of Neil and Cornell I feel variations on the same thing: sadness.

Him: I don't feel sadness for david lee roth or Michael Monroe; despite every obstacle in their respective careers that have unfolded. simply, my humble opinion.

I found the simple life...ain't so simple.
