Anvil Is Going On Tour

Anvil continues to extend their 15 minutes of fame - the band released a new album last month called Pounding The Pavement. You can see the Canadians at the cities below. I saw them once at Rocklahoma. They played very early. I'll admit I wasn't very impressed but I do know Anvil has a cult following. So enjoy.

Kudos to them.

That said, and said before, they are largely a novelty act that got a second shot at some love thanks to that documentary.

Like Diamond Head, they exist in that place where "the artists we love love them." So some of us love them too. But I would rather it was Diamond Head getting this sort of attention. No slight to Anvil. Have to admire them for sticking with it. But that doesn't mean you have to enjoy their music all that much.

Agreed, HIM!

Diamond Head has the catalog, especially “Am I Evil?” That one song alone is vastly superior to anything Anvil ever produced.

Not that I don’t like Anvil. It’s just a simple fact they are not in the same league as Diamond Head.

To say that was painful to listen to would be like saying leprocy is (kudos to Monty Python here) " a mere flesh wound."

I give Lips a lot of credit for keeping a version of Anvil going.
It's not easy to keep a band going & progressing with all the outside financial things being against them. As a show of support for his dedication to his craft, I'll probably go to the Anvil gig in Vegas, at Vamp'd. (that stage is my 2nd home!) Good on ya, Lips! Keep rocking, Never Surrender.

A completely valid partial counter-point to my post, Ace. Totally see your point.

Like I said, kudos to them (for sticking it out).
