Happy Tuesday. Stryper just released a lyric video for their song “Lost.” The song is on the band's new album God Damn Evil. You can buy the digital download by clicking the image at left.
I had never seen or really heard much of Stryper, until this Saturday at M3. Before their show they were signing autographs, and I'm not sure I've ever seen a group of people less interested in being there than them. It was very clear they couldn't wait to get outta there. However, I was pleasantly surprised by their set after that. I only knew 2 songs, but it all sounded great, and the twin guitar attack is excellent. I would go see them if they were in my area again.
@ Badlands. Lmfao!! I saw that clip from Italy online yesterday. Either Mr. Sweet puts Jeff Dunham to shame as a ventriloquist, or yeah, they’re literally playing along to their own songs...
Totally off topic but, hey Badlands, the band Tempt you turned (at least me) onto is opening for Bon Jovi at the garden on Thursday!! I'm the first in line to hammer Mr Bon Jovi, but that is some super cool shit he's doing there. Letting a young, super talented NYC band play at the garden in front of 20,000. That's some serious exposure. (Now, let's hope the 18,000 soccer moms in the crowd get into them...lol)
I, too, saw that clip from their lip synched performance at the Frontiers Music Festival on Metal when it posted Sunday on Metal Sludge. What would Jesus say, Michael Sweet?
And, while we’re at it, I would be curious to know what Jesus would think of this new video!
Gary and Badland, that is SO awesome TEMPT will be opening for Bon Jovi at The Garden in front of 21,000 people! Wish I could be there!
FYI - I discovered these guys through Apple Music in June of 2016. Great to see them kick so much a*s and this is a HUGE break for them especially since they are classifying themselves as “Arena Rock” on Apple Music. Hats off to Bon Jovi for greenlighting them.
That is great news for Tempt. I have enjoyed their music since I was first made aware of them on this site. I hope they can continue to expand their base while building an increasingly solid foundation of original songs. Otherwise they will be a flash in the pan known for doing a good job modernizing the classics (not necessarily their fault, but . . .). Still wondering what happened to the bass player from the "Women" video. And I have to ask (with tongue in cheek): does anyone else think the boys look like some Hanson/Nelson-hybrid science experiment?
Oh, and back to the actual topic: was Stryper's appearance on the seventh day? If so, resting is a perfectly legit explanation for a little piped-in support!
Haha!! Indeed, funny observations, HIM, as I, too, have wondered about their “look”, which kinda looks like they either (1) haven’t quit their day jobs or (2) don’t really need to work because they are actually rich Park Avenue kids.
An indicator of one of these circumstances is the fact they only play once or twice a month at the most and never outside of the New York City area. Hell, maybe one of their Dads bought the opening slot of the Bon Jovi MSG gig. Whatever it is, it’s awesome their awesome music will be exposed to potentially 21,000 people! And another great advance of our cause to “Bring Back Glam!”
