Motley Crue, Def Leppard and Poison Tour Is On

Rolling Stone has confirmed the rumors and the tour is happening. Expect to see Motley Crue, Def Leppard and Poison tour stadiums next year. No word on dates yet. I'm sure those (and sky high ticket prices!) will come along shortly.

I'm hoping for Tom Keifer.
Curious what kind of stadiums they're looking to fill. I just don't see this as a stadium bill - nothing against all those bands which I love - and I guess those promoters know more than I do. Still see amphitheaters for this, and I would expect those to be full. Stadiums lower level maybe, but not upper levels.
That said, could the 4th band be the actual stadium headliner? AC/DC? GNR? Van Halen? Then I see stadiums.
For Poison fans like me, this cements that it will be the same old 50 minute set, so I am disappointed about that. I for one would have loved them to headline with their own tour playing amphitheaters, but it certainly looks now like that's not going to happen.
I have a pretty cool story about "almost meeting" Robert Daltrey and Pete Townshead. In the Summer of 2002, my wife and I (along with one of our teenage foster kids) were going to The Who/Robert Plant concert at the Camden NJ amphitheater. Again (for those who don't know) this is yet another "Philly" venue (sort of), but in New Jersey. It's right across the Delaware river and most people take the Ben Franklin Bridge from Philly into New Jersey. Many, many performers often [mistakenly] say on the New Jersey stage while performing, "HELLO PHILADELPHIA!". It often get a big laugh.
Anyway, as we were driving over the bridge a huge, multi car accident occurred at the top of the bridge shutting down all lanes of traffic. We were on the bridge glad to have missed being in the accident by minutes. The time was getting later and later and traffic was at a standstill. The bridge was a parking lot and almost everyone was out of their cars mingling and tailgating. This was about 6pm. We were listing to Pierre Robert on WMR as he was providing traffic updates. 8pm came and Robert Plant took the stage. We were all listening to the concert on the bridge. We were also really bummed that were missing the show., but we had no place to go.
Then from the New Jersey side, a swarm of police cars came speeding up. These cops though, ran past the car accident (Emergency Response Units were already on scene). Instead, bbout a dozen and half Officers surrounded a Limousine two (2) cars in front of my Jeep. They open the Limousine car door and out pops Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshead. The people on the bridge went nuts and started cheering. How strange? The Who were also stuck on this bridge and couldn't get to their own concert.
The Officers whisked them to an awaiting patrol car and they were en route to the venue. Pierre Robert announced this on the radio that The Who has guaranteed to delay their show until the bridge is reopened and fans can get to the show. The Bridge reopened about 9-9;30pm. We missed all of Robert Plant (other than hearing it on the radio), but we got to our seats around 10pm, right before The Who played their first song.
I hope San Diego is treating you well, Bob. Peace.
Till curious about this rumored "4th band" (if it's even real at all) though if it's not a big name it won't make a difference.
