It Was All Just A 'Joke'

Remember when Mick Marks promised us all free tickets if Motley Crue ever reunited? Now Mick is saying that was just a joke. Probably because so many media outlets picked up on the 2014 comments. I don't care one way or another - I do believe in 2014, Mick thought the band would never go out on the road together again. Things change and money talks. What is interesting is that the band thought enough of it to have Mick make another statement about the free ticket comment.

Looking forward to see dates and stadium locations. I have to travel anywhere to see it but its a party I don't plan to miss.

Seems to me they’re going to let Mick be the fall guy for going back on their “iron clad contract”. Was their really anybody alive who didn’t think this would not eventually happen? I’m surprised it took this long.? When money talks, bullshit walks. The worlds better when these guys are out there anyway, even if it is playing along to click tracks. 😎👍

Personally, I don't think _he_ was 'joking' at the time. But he took the pie as it was offered, and as you would expect from Mars, one of the more trustworthy members of MC, LLC.

But who really cares? It was as obvious as hell that this farewell was not going to stick (admittedly, I expected it to last a bit longer). It is also obvious that the reason being bandied about is as flimsy as Lee's thong back in the day. So what were the reasons for selling a farewell and now selling a hello? I could venture a guess. But, again, who cares?

On some level I agree . . . a world with the Crue is a better place. Thing is, I have my CDs, my memories, etc. So that is a non-issue for me. I didn't much care about the farewell and I don't really care about the reunion. If it makes you happy, I am happy for you. And there is no snark in that observation.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving everyone. Hope you are surrounded by family and friends.

Au contraire my fine friend, him. Mick Mars joked it. He knew the implications of saying it. He was depending on the rest of the band to hold their end up.

I genuinely think that at the time the Crue did that idiotic agreement, they thought this would be the last tour.

But as has been said many times ... money talks. Not 1000's of new fans all of a sudden due to the Dirt movie ... it's the money. Demand for 80's nostalgia is still high and promoters want to pounce on it. Go fill those stadiums!
