The festival will run four days, from July 11 - 13. Aerosmith will headline the last night of the fest. Other acts include Kid Rock, Nickelback, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alice Cooper, Peter Frampton, Blondie, Billy Idol, Cheap Trick and more. Tickets are on sale now.

This is pretty close to me, relatively speaking, and we don't get a lot of good festivals up my way.

Some the acts here are pretty attractive, but still not enough to get me up there. If they add a few more acts that are up my alley, I may consider this.

Overall, getting festivals like this in my neck of the woods is great though. Hopefully, there will be more.

To be clear, the great acts already on the bill I have seen already. A few times. These days I want to see some bands that I have never seen before. New blood, so to speak.

Rita, my “Heavy Metal Love”! Just curious, when is the last time you saw Aerosmith?

Reason, I ask is they are SO incredible live, I figured you might want to catch them one last time while they’re up your way because, quite honestly, how much longer will you be able to see them live before one of them has to “retire” or worse.

My advice is to see them while you can because of the fact they are one of the few legendary bands who are STILL together in the classic line-up and STILL able to sound SO amazing! I mean, at their age, it’s impossible to know if they’ll ever be able to make it back up there!

Metalboy! - You are right about Aerosmith. Last time I say them was about 2015, I think.

They were amazing. Fantastic show. Really blew me away what a great show they still put on, even after all these years.

Worth seeing again, definitely.

Im gonna go ahead and disagree vehemently, about Aerosmith ever being a good live band. I saw them on the "Get a Grip" tour and that was the only time ive ever seen them. Ive seen over 75 shows and to this day, theyre still the absolute worst live band that ive ever seen in my entire 45 years of life. Boring, too many new poppy songs, just a lame show, over all. And i love their old stuff, btw. Maybe they would've been a better band to see when they were actually still young( in the 70's) but definitely not these days!

Dude, they’ve changed their tune. Even their boring 80’s stuff sounds awesome live these days. Do yourself a favor, go see ‘em live point blank. Even if it sets you back $500 for a ticket, it will set you free!

So, stop being such a Debbie Downer! Look, I realize I trash a lot of bands or nit pick certain things about ‘em but your quotient of complaining far outweighs mine.

Open your mind, man!

Cue JTR ...

The fallacy of composition/proof by example is alive and well in 2019!

I don't even dig Aerosmith these days. But really?!?! Sample size, dear friend. Sample size!

Now saying that a band had an off show or even a disastrous tour is one thing. But that ain't what someone is saying.

Oh, I forgot to name the person. But I think you all know to whom this is directed. And I thank that person. Because it got me posting again. So that is a blessing or a curse. Depends on the POV, I guess.

Sorry about having my own opinion, fellas. But it aint changin. And guess what... its just as relevant as yours. I know yall are both always gonna be partial to the dinosaurs though. If either of you could name one semi-major act that you like, thats came out in the last 2 decades, id be absolutely shocked! lmao

Oh bkallday, you hopeless prose master! You really do believe the stuff you write, don't you?

Whoever said your opinion wasn't relevant? Crickets. Whoever brought up--on this thread--being partial to dinosaurs, save you? Crickets. Who would even claim that we (I assume you mean me and Metalboy!) only like old bands, besides you? Crickets. [And, just to be clear, the last two comments are distinct in their perspectives, so I am actually helping to make sense of your prattle.]

You don't really read and process the comments before your respond to them, do you? You just 'glean' what you need to go roaring off on a tangent. Did you happen to notice that I said that I didn't really care for Aerosmith these days? I mean, it was one of the clearest things I wrote. So that actually supports your point, in part. But you just gloss over that to make the more bombastic point that is your calling card. Have you read (I know you have) any of the posts where people (me, Metalboy!, others, including you) list new bands we like? But you have to gloss over that . . . to . . . yup, make more bombastic points.

I know we get along just fine in spots. But I really wish you were interested in actually discussing things, Bkallday! I would really like to get your perspective on things, not just your invective on 'thangs. You seem more spout-ready than thought-ready. Which is fine. As you said (and I have before, so I did enjoy you co-opting a point I raised with you several times prior), opinions are free range and available to everyone. But they can be questioned and challenged. To point out the paradox of you hinging your latest salvo on that very point would be a bit too much (but I did it, didn't I?).

Therein lies your problem. You don't like to respond--in kind and on point--to those who disagree with you and do so in a way that requires you to clarify your position. So you spout. And that is really the nugget of truth in all of this: you get along fine with anyone, so long as they agree with what you think.

But why not go a step further and actually spend some time discussing points of disagreement? I mean, really discuss them? My more general point in responding to you the first time was to point out that you--not me, not me interpreting you--predicated your comment on a fallacy of 'one proves all'. That's it. Nothing more. I thought what you said was relevant enough to point that out. And I didn't even get into how janked up your chronological exposition was, or how you switched between one experience you had and a general feeling you had about how the band has been live since you saw them. Nope. I just focused on a specific thing, noted my issue with it, and then added some commentary.

Now I suppose you can say that is all you do too. I get it. But I really wish you would engage people like me. I actually have a theory about all of this. I think this site has less (and sometimes less) comments on it because people like you and me drive people away from commenting. I am too caught up in discussing things in too much detail and with an occasional dash of too much sarcasm. You are too caught up in (trigger alert, Burgerkingalldayyourway), beating your chest and climbing to the top of the building. I would rather read things on this site and not post if it meant that more people who read it posted. But that's just me. I don't really need this site to flex my writing muscles. But I love it because, at its best, people like to talk about music you and I care about. I don't know your motivations. And I won't question them as a result. But I will challenge you when you act like a twit. Please continue to do the same with me.

And, others on here, please post more. Even if it means you tell me to "Back off and stop it." I actually would do so as a sign of respect. Seriously.

If anything, Fletch, and especially after Allyson's sad recent post (April 7), I feel like there is more of a context to my complaint . . . esp. as it relates to my role in minor squabbles on this site. I am less and less inclined to comment. There is so much left to do in this world. And expending fruitless ink on trivial boasts and brags and bravado leaves me feeling empty and unfulfilled.

So I suspect I am going to take a step back in the next few weeks and months and ponder things a bit. And enjoy life. And enjoy shows with friends. I recently saw Queensryche. And Bob Mould. I am going to see ELO and Judas Priest and Steve Miller in the upcoming months. I just bought tickets to see Ghost in Sept. I want to focus on the future and on the present, on making memories and celebrating all that I am lucky to have in my life. Fueling a negative vibe isn't doing it for me anymore, even if I feel justified in speaking up when I think things are amiss.

What I won't do is stop reading this site. I still derive a good deal of pleasure from what Allyson has created. I just don't want to be part of the problem, even if that is just me feeling that way. I will leave the tilting at windmills to those who are so inclined and let their comments echo into the vapor.
