Neal Schon Releases Prince Tribute

Neal Schon, Journey founder, has revealed a first taste of his upcoming, solo LP, Universe, with a Birthday homage to Prince, an inspirational tribute to "Purple Rain." 

This is an interesting little tribute and I am here for it. I love Prince and Journey - so what could go wrong?

Unfortunately, right or wrong, Schon comes off as capitalizing on Prince’s untimely death.

Too, there’s just something wrong about this project because, though both Prince and Schon will forever be known as truly scorching guitarists, Prince was forever the inventive genius playing custom guitars designed and built to his exacting specifications while Schon is clearly, if unintentionally or not, looking like somewhat of a poseur simply looking to cash in with some pyrotechnical guitar playing in “homage” to Prince.
