He’s got some serious legit Detroit players involved:
Johnny “Bee” Badanjek, Drums - Anyone with “Bad” in their name probably would be and in this case, sure seems like it when you consider his creds include Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, renowned for his legendary drum break on one of their classic hits, “Devil With The Blue Dress On”.
Mark Farner, Lead Guitar - Leader of the mega-successful 70’s act Grand Funk Railroad, who’s songs became radio staples and still are today, including “We’re An American Band”, “Some Kind of Wonderful”, “Locomotion”, “Bad Time”, “I’m Your Captain”, and others.
Wayne Kramer, Lead Guitar - one of the founders of the legendary MC5 (Motor City 5), who have been nominated for induction into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame a mere 5 times, including as recently as last year!
Paul Randolph, Bass - member of Jazzanova, the renowned Electronica band.
Mick Collins, Keyboards - Detroit Garage Rock and Punk veteran who is currently a member of The Gories.
All of the above are reasons KISS enshrined these guys’ hometown “Detroit Rock City”!
Get ready to ROCK like we haven’t heard Alice Cooper in decades!
This EP could mark a great nod toward the more authentic Detroit sound than the borderline overproduced sounding glitz and glam L.A. Style (not that I don’t love that, too!) of his more recent output.
I would KILL (figuratively speaking, of course) to see him perform with this incredible line-up but something tells me it ain’t gonna happen. However, I hope and pray to The Metal Gods, they put out a documentary film, working title, “Alice Cooper: Breadcrumbs”, featuring the making of the E.P. and a live performance.

Now, let's get back to ME!!! (smile) ...and what transpired next:
Anyway, as noted above, I took my teenage foster son to this show. I have to admit that I never told anyone this story before until just recently, but I didn't have tickets to the show and so we snuck in. If I were my foster care worker at the time...yeah, I'd be pissed. Thank goodness that she didn't know. And, to this day, I don't even think that my foster son knew what happened either...
Here's the story. I went to Penn's Peak with every intention of paying for tickets. When I went to the box office, the show was sold out. I couldn't believe it. I had gone to many, many shows there before and it had never been sold out. We stood outside for a while hoping someone (or two) had an extra ticket. The shows are general admission so we didn't even have to score two (2) tickets together- just two tickets to get us in. Nobody had an extra tickets, let alone two.
After a while, I said to him, c'mon, let's go up to Roadies restaurant. For those who don't know this establishment, Penn's Peak has an upstairs restaurant open to the public, whether they are going to a show or not. It has a separate outside entrance. I promised him something to eat and I figured the restaurant will be filled with people going to the show. So, as my son was eating, I'd have a few beers and ask other patrons if they have extra tickets. If not, we'd go back outside after dinner and continue our quest to get tickets. I still couldn't find anyone with an extra ticket.
But, as I was sitting at the table, waiting for him to finish his meal, I noticed a door on the far end of the restaurant and saw people (both wait staff and patrons) coming in and out of this door. I knew it wasn't a bathroom because the bathrooms were located at another location in the restaurant.
I asked our server what that door lead to and she said that it is a back stair case to the concert hall. I told my son to finish eating and I'll be right back (trust me, I don't even believe he was listening the conversation as he was too engrossed in his food- the kid loved to eat...not mocking him, just true). Anyway, as I was approaching the door, a group of patrons finished their meal and went down to the concert hall through that door. I followed them down. Nobody stopped me and I got onto the general admission floor.
I turned around, went back upstairs through the door and found my son. He was finished eating. I paid the tab (for the meal and beers only), and told him to follow me. He did. We went through the door, down the staircase and onto the general admission floor, where we saw Alice Cooper perform and this happened to be the infamous night where Alice accidentally lost his beloved sword.
Yep, Alice and PP: I guess I still owe you each a few dollars.
Glad to see Alice is still putting out new music.
You want even more humor? Listen to Kane Roberts’ Desmond Child produced solo album which came out not long after his departure from Alice Cooper.
