Led Zeppelin: Best Band In The World?

Led Zeppelin was the best band in the world, according to a recent interview with Jimmy Page. Agree? We all know Metalboy calls Zep his favorite band. There's good reason: all those classic albums and songs. Heavy riffs, melodic tunes, wailing vocals. And a band that knew when to hang it up before devaluing their product or mystique. Thoughts?

Haha!! Though Led Zeppelin is my favorite band but “The Best Band In The World”?

I would say that title needs to be bestowed upon The Beatles!

Just ask Ozzy and countless others though many of our heroes (i.e. Keifer or Brian Forsythe) will tell you it’s The Stones.

But, obviously, don’t ask Page. I love the man dearly, but in the words of Joe Perry, “Let The Music Do The Talking”!

To clarify, Led Zeppelin IS my favorite band!

But the title goes to The Beatles, IMHO.

Without them, there would be no Zeppelin, or Stones or Who, or whoever, etc., etc., etc.

I like Zeppelin, love them. And ill say right now that they're the godfathers of hard rock. But for me, ill go with the Stones as the greatest band ever. I'm not even that big of a Stones fan, but gotta give em their props. Apparently Zep stole a bunch of their songs, rhythms, or ideas from others, so that's gotta factor in for me. Also the fact that Robert Plant is such an eccentric weirdo who has completely changed his style and seems to be ashamed of what made him famous in the first place, factors in for me. I mean... Allison Krauss?!?! The top 3 bands of all time, imo, are The Stones, Metallica, & Skynyrd. Feel free to disagree though. Lol

Although I can certainly see why many will say The Beatles, I always just thought they were a tad too pop oriented for me. Just never could get into em for whatever reason. I was an Elvis guy, myself! 😎

Never got into Zeppelin. I’ll go with Queen or the Stones. Not a huge Beatles fan either!

I have to stay away from naming any band the BEST - The Zep are legends don't get me wrong and they inspired many of my favorite bands. The Beatles when you get away from the pop and deep into their catalog are groundbreaking as well. I just have a hard time with the BEST title..

On a side note been listening to Icon, Steeler, Rough Cutt, and Keel a bunch lately and jeeez those albums sucked with production they sound like they were recorded with a Gailen Kuger 2- 6 inch speaker amp in a tin can.
