'Do What You Can' -- Bon Jovi, New Track

Bon Jovi is out with a new song called "Do What You Can." The song is about New York City during the pandemic and is on the upcoming album 2020.

"Do What You Can" definitely sounds country to me, but that is just my opinion. Fans helped create the verses for this song, which makes it a unique snapshot in time.

When the Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox 20 officially out "rock" you... Bon Jovi 2020

Not feeling this one, whatever edge they had left after 1990 left with Sambora. Jon is still relevant and sold out arenas when live music was still a thing so what do I know?

Obviously Jon didn't "Do what he Can" in regards to this terrible song

Well It is not 1987 and Jon is no longer in his 20's or 30's - Jon has some real life under his belt and is no longer caring about what we think he should be. Jon is being what he wants to be which is a POSITIVE influence trying to make a difference.

I actually like it... the message is strong and from the heart. Will we ever hear another You give love a bad name from Jon - probably not. You can tell Richie is not there in the sound and mix but I believe that ship has sailed.

Maybe I am just in a non critical mood after Frankie's death. Musicians change just like the rest of us...

Shawn, I hear you. For all the slagging that Frankie got, the dude did his best to keep a band (and his livelihood) going. People, even on here, took shots at him when he was down. But the guy fought a good fight (cliche, I know). And he also remained positive in his posts. So, rest in peace.

But, that said, this is a corn pone piece of good intentions. Note, I praise An Chovi for all the good deeds he does. He contributes to those less fortunate. He helps others. Full stop.

Well, not full stop. His music now is too damn John Tesh to fit with the rock crowds he attempted to convert (and he converted them and they still keep the faith) in the 80s and 90s. Sure, some of those fans have aged along with his music and love him still (and some in spite).

This is barely rock. Is that a problem? Nope. Good for him. This is him now. But it isn't an issue of age or voice or tone. It is an issue of direction. I, too, appreciate the message. I guess I don't really care for the package. And that isn't a criticism of him. It is an opinion from me. Nuff sed.
