In sports... Tim Tebow is going back to the NFL. He's going to be a tight end for the Jaguars. Tebow signed a one year deal. Yes, he hasn't played professionally in what feels like forever.
Tim Tebow last played an NFL game Dec. 30, 2012. According to @EliasSports, six players have gone at least eight years between games played in the NFL, so Tebow could become the seventh. pic.twitter.com/uxnKeut6z6

The New Yorker does a nice piece on burnout. Having lived it - and still recovering - I think all the questions this article poses are legitimate. Basically, no you're not "burned out" if you're just tired or having a bad day at work. True burnout is far more insidious.
Burnout is widely reported to have grown worse during the pandemic, according to splashy news stories. But behind the latest crisis of depletion is a long history of exhaustion. https://t.co/WSQ5qJUvmM

The New York state attorney general's office is now conducting a criminal investigation into the Trump Organization. Most people are asking, "What took so long?"
NEW: The @NewYorkStateAG investigation into the Trump Organization is “no longer purely civil.”

“We are now actively investigating the Trump Organization in a criminal capacity, along with the Manhattan DA,” a spokesman told CNN. pic.twitter.com/Ctck7VrYc0
The cease-fire between Israel and Hamas remains in tact, which is good news, but the violence and tension will undoubtably remain.

Kixchix, that had me laughing! You pulled a Gary! But I do think, in all seriousness, that a Hip Hop Museum makes a lot of sense. And, no, that isn't me back-tracking on previously displayed ire re: the RaRHoF. I said I liked the museum. And I think I would like a Hip Hop Museum as well. There have been some truly impressive acts over the years. How it hasn't happened until now is, to my mind, a bit odd.
That last post had me laughing as well, Allyson. I suppose it will be a collection of air balloons, as those were used during the Civil War (and beyond). I once happened upon a letter, written on cheap paper, that a person sent to a friend while he was serving in WWI (for the British). He was in the Balloon Corps. It was an amazing read, as he spoke of dull days and tense flights over enemy territory. And it was written in that sort of matter-of-fact way that you might expect from a British fellow at that time. I can't even fathom floating over the enemy in a balloon!!!
Peace between Israel and Palestine? Phew. Better minds have tried and failed on that one. John Oliver, who I often disagree with but find entertaining and educational (it is lovely when those two are combined), launched what could be considered an 'angry' rant on his show last week about the recent violence. Even if you disagree with every word he spoke, it is worth a watch (you might like it, Jimbo).
You don't need to be woke in your music appreciation.
Most posts here are about music and I still come here every single day, as I have since about 2008. I used to post a lot because I felt that I had found people with similar interest who could relate to some of what I have to say. People who may appreciate (more than the average Hip Hop fan) my stories about hanging out with Jani Lane and Vince Neil one night back in the day.
And one of the reasons I stopped posting for a long time was because I didn't like arguing with strangers on the Internet. And I got into that and I regret it.
Live and let live. Do what you want. Leave. Stay, It's all good.
And I don't know about anyone else but I am ticked that Mustaine fired Ellefson over what Ellefson did on his time off. Whatever he did was his and his wife's business, and it has nothing to do with how well he can do his job. How pathetic to be fired over something like that. I feel bad that he was foolish enough to fall into the trap of a young girl who used him. Sad. Older guys (some of them) become brainless when some young T&A bats their eyes at them. That's really too bad. He got used and he is paying for it now.
