Mssr. Simmons is a classic case of contrasts. He does a lot of good charity work. He doted on his mom and celebrated the trials she went through during WWII. He offers up some sage advice every now and again. But then he is also an ego-driven, money-hungry, narcissist. Occasionally, he folds all of his pluses and minuses into one sweet package. His recent slam on DLR, followed by DLR's lovely pictorial reply, followed by his less-than-apology are a case in point. Stanley, in contrast, took the high road in that drama. Did he have a point, as he did with his "rock is dead" diatribe? Most certainly. But he lets his smugness get in the way of making the point.

Methinks the man never looks in the mirror, figuratively or literally, lest he became aware of the fact that he is a walking paradox. A rich paradox, to be sure. So he is doing something right.

Still, I wish him a speedy recovery. I know fans really want to see this last farewell tour. Moreover, they are dying to see the guy doing art as an opening act again. That dude is the bomb!
