The Midnight - 'Change Your Heart Or Die'

New band, new music Thursday! Meet The Midnight from California. Their latest song "Change Your Heart Or Die" has an amazing 80s glam feel - just check out the guitar solo! The Midnight are two guys and they usually focus on electronic music. Maybe I like them so much because I also dig EDM?

The two members are Tim McEwan and Tyler Lyle. They wanted to create a really big song to perform at their top of their lungs... something their fans could really enjoy. I think they achieved their goal and I hope we hear from Glam from them soon! What do you think?

Hmm . . . I dunno. I don't really hear the glam in this one. Sure, there are some 'hints'. More like John Parr (remember that guy?!?!) doing a song on a Stallone movie soundtrack . . . with a bit of a fey vocal style!

Not that it is bad. It isn't. But it doesn't sound glam to me. It sounds like a retro rock song. Perhaps I am splitting hairs. Then again, I haven't used conditioner in a few days.

Is there something called St. Elmo's Glam? If so, then this is it. I guess?

I'm with Him. I like this (much better than that new Def Leppard song ... ), but it's not glam. My first thought was that it reminded me of bands like The Fixx, or even Saga. I'd like it better without the drum machine or the autotuned vocals, but I can't have everything, I suppose.

They have been playing "On the Loose" on the classic rock channel on Sirius/XM a lot recently. It is certainly a Canadian ear-worn sort of song.
