Farewell Darryl Hunt

Darryl Gatwick Hunt, bass player for The Pogues, has died. He passed yesterday at age 72 but no cause of death was given. The band officially called it quits in 2014 but their following has remained strong.

We are saddened beyond words. Our Darryl passed away yesterday afternoon in London.

'Jukebox Junkie' - Andy McCoy

Andy McCoy - best known for his time in Hanoi Rocks - has a new album. It came out Friday and is called Jukebox Junkie. The work definitely sounds like old school rock.

Of course, this is a covers album of songs you would expect to probably never be covered. Apparently that was intentional because the songs are those that McCoy personally loves and thought deserved to be (more) famous. It's an interesting release. It will take some time to grow on me, but I think I like it!

Sunday's Best: Week 31, 2022

There's new Tesla music today and a video debuting Tuesday! The new song is called "Time To Rock" and it instantly grabbed me with that talk box that always reminds me of Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion." Celebrating this new music and upcoming video is our Sunday's Best for the week.

"Time To Rock" has been in the Tesla live show rotation all summer and finally the rest of us can hear it too. Good on Tesla for keeping it real and fresh and continuing to write new music as inspiration strikes.

This Is One Hell Of A Halloween Show

I love Halloween - it's my favorite holiday. The Misfits just announced an epic special show to celebrate Halloween. Alice Cooper is the very special guest. This is all going down in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, October 29. Tickets go on sale next Friday and they will go fast. This will probably be one of the most epic rock shows of the year.

Apparently My Cat Loves Damn Yankees

So the other day I was working and clicking around to different songs as you do... when my cat Roosevelt wandered into my office. He rubbed up against my leg as cats do and started bucking for attention or treats or for me to open the window... or for all three things. I was pretty busy and was trying to ignore him because I really had a lot to get done. Cue Roosevelt meowing incessantly... until Damn Yankees "Where You Going Now" came on my Amazon Music.

Seriously the cat shut up, laid down and perked his ears up the whole song. This intrigued me so I played the track again and he stayed on the floor, content. Then I switched over to the louder, faster "Don't Tread On Me" and he immediately left the room. He even glared at me a little (I think). 

So now when I want to calm Rosie down I play some slow Damn Yankees. Crazy odd but amusing nonetheless.

Another Classic Aerosmith Concert Is Coming Tomorrow

I'm all in on the classic and never-before-seen-Aerosmith shows to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary! Tomorrow, the band will release Live The Capital Centre, Landover, MD, 1989 via their YouTube channel at 3pm ET. To celebrate, the band also just dropped some 80s-style merchandise.
