The Grammy Awards Are Tonight... In Case You Care

The Grammy Awards are tonight. The show will be filled with pop and country music. We do know that there will be a tribute to Lemmy. There will be one to David Bowie too. Still, I don't expect much from the show.

Iranian Band Confess Jailed, May Be Executed

Today's we're going to call attention to the Iranian metal band Confess.

Two band members were arrested by the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution. They were held for months, getting out after they made their $33,000 bail. Now they face charges of blasphemy, advertising against the system, forming an illegal band and recording label and writing lyrics that are anti-religious among other charges.

The scariest part of this is that the members of Confess may be jailed for six months to six years. They can also be executed if found guilty of blasphemy.

No matter what you think of this band's particular brand of Metal, I think it's important we stand together with these guys. We should also quit whining and complaining so much about how bad we have it here in America (Canada, Australia, Ireland or insert some other free country here). This is an example of real persecution. I hope this band gets help. Music bloggers repeating this story enough might get national media attention. 

New SIXX: A.M. Music Coming!

This is great news! SIXX: A.M. will release the single "Rise" on March 1. The song will be on the band's upcoming double album, due later this year.

I'm going to Rock on the Range this year for two reasons: 1) to see Christian and 2) to watch SIXX: A.M. I love this band and I'm truly excited for Nikki Sixx and his new creative output.

Michael Monroe, 'Goin' Down With The Ship' -- New Video

The king of Glam is back at it with a new video. Michael Monroe just dropped his new video for "Goin' Down With The Ship."

The song is taken from Monroe's latest studio album Blackout States. Real Glam people!

Another Tour: Hall & Oates

Not Glam, not ashamed. Hall & Oates are touring this summer and I'm totally getting tickets when the on-sale starts Friday. The duo will play Riverbend in Cincinnati in July. I've always wanted to see Hall & Oates live. They have so many good songs, many of which really summed up the 80s pop scene. Good stuff. What do you think?

Ok, Now You Can Buy The Steven Tyler Skittles Portrait

Sunday night's Super Bowl ad bonanza featured a spot for Skittles starring Steven Tyler. Now you can bid in a charity auction for Steven's Skittles portrait. The portrait in the ad was CGI so the one you would be bidding on is a replica. The money from the eBay auction supports Steven's charity, Janie's Fund.

As of this writing, the bidding was over $5,000.
