Sending Best Wishes To Ozzy

Ozzy Osbourne will have a major surgery Monday. That news comes from his wife (and manager) Sharon Osbourne. She made the announcement on her UK TV show but did not specify the type of surgery Ozzy will undergo. The fact that Sharon says it will "determine the rest of his life" means that it is a major medical deal and is probably also referring to Ozzy's ability to perform again. I certainly wish him the best and I know you do too.

I'm Ridiculously Excited For 'The Munsters' Movie

We got our very first teaser for The Munsters movie today! The film, written and directed by Rob Zombie, basically melds my love for metal with classic TV sitcoms. Folks are always mystified at my love for classic TV: The Andy Griffith Show, The Munsters, MASH, Gilligan's Island, The Waltons, The Golden Girls, Designing Women, 227... I love them all and so many more.

Will Zombie write songs for the soundtrack? I hope so! The film will be PG and I think it's going to be so fun. It comes out sometime later this year.

But Did You See That Queen Performance... For The Queen?

Her Majesty the Queen, Elizabeth II, celebrated 70 years on the throne over the weekend with much pomp and circumstance. One of the biggest parts of the weekend was when Queen + Adam Lambert performed. So much epicness in a 12 minute show.

The band also performed a big show at the O2 Arena in London last night. Ah to have been there! Watching the videos on YouTube is a real treat.

15th Anniversary Rocklahoma Lineup Announced

Rocklahoma is celebrating 15 years this Labor Day weekend. It's hard to believe the fest has been going on that long, but time does march forward. The lineup for this year's party was just announced.

Headliners include Five Finger Death Punch and Shinedown. Megadeth, Seether, In This Moment, Ice Nine Kills, Dorothy and a slew more bands will perform. From the glam scene, Quiet Riot and Enuff Z'Nuff will perform, which are both interesting choices considering the rest of the lineup. Tickets go on sale this Friday and VIP packages are available, as always.

Sunday's Best: Week 22, 2022 - Farewell Alec John Such

Our Sunday's Best today is a sad one - according to a Twitter post on the official Bon Jovi account, bassist Alec John Such has died. Right now, there is no cause of death or many other details.

Such was a founding member of Bon Jovi and left the band in 1994. Such was an underrated bass player and a huge part of the band's early hits.

One Iconic Movie Theme

There are no spoilers in this post!

Oh it's Saturday again. Have you seen Top Gun: Maverick yet? If not, go to the theatre immediately. I saw it last weekend and I swear, it is better than the original.

The Top Gun theme is one of the best, most iconic pieces of movie music ever. It proves you don't need lyrics to have a memorable song! Steve Stevens is a guitar badass here. Such a joy to hear again on those massive movie theater speakers.

The Top Gun theme is so important to my little social circle that Heather even got married (the second time) to it! When I was a teen, Paramount owned Kings Island amusement park and there was a ride named "Top Gun" and the music played everywhere in the park. It's the kind of song that instantly brings a smile to your face.

These Prices Don't Even Include Tickets!

So this is nuts: Motley Crue opened some more VIP slots for The Stadium Tour. The top level package is $3,500 and includes a meet and greet with the band. That price does not include a ticket to the show. How is that even possible? I know these cash grab VIP experiences are the norm now, but they usually include a ticket to the show in question, right? How much money do these guys need to make a night? Yikes!
