Contraband!

Talk about a blast from the past for real. From a random 80s Facebook group that I am not even a member of - I saw a post about Contraband. The very short lived supergroup featured Richard Black of Shark Island, Tracii Guns of L.A. Guns, Bobby Blotzer of RATT, Michael Schenker of McAuley Schenker Group and Share Pedersen of Vixen.

There was one self-titled album which basically flopped. Even still, there were some videos, a tour with RATT and then not much else. Michael Schenker said the band broke up because of internal fighting. Kind of sad because this band could have been so much better with stronger songs. The talent was certainly there.

Lenny Kravitz, 'Human' -- New Music

Lenny Kravitz just released a lyric video for his new song "Human" from the upcoming album Blue Electric Light. That new album is due at the end of May.

This year is already a big one for Kravtiz. He is nominated to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and will likely easily get in. He won the "Music Icon" statue last month from the People's Choice Awards, too. There is also a summer tour of Europe planned and I have to image some American live dates thrown in somewhere for good measure. What do you think of "Human?"

Aerosmith Announces 'Get Your Wings' Special Vinyl

Shut up and take my money! Aerosmith just announced a special 50th anniversary edition of "Get Your Wings." The 180-gram gold vinyl comes out May 17 but is available for pre-order now. The album is $46 and there are also packages that come with shirts and other items.

Also, it seems there is some movement on rescheduling Aerosmith tour dates. Some ticketholders are reporting date changes inside the Ticketmaster app. I haven't noticed any change to my Cincinnati show - but I am keeping a close eye! At some point I would like to get my $600 worth... or a refund. I prefer seeing the band live!

Crazy Lixx Drummer Quits

This kind of sucks - Joel Cirera has announced his departure from Crazy Lixx. This after the band just released a great new album Two Shots At Glory. I guess we will know the new drummer soon enough.

No More Girlschool US Dates

Girlschool, the legendary all-female UK rock band, has announced there will be no more American tours after their run this year. The band has some festival, Midwest and east coast dates lined up now and there might be west coast dates to come, but this is it if you want to see them live. Most of the shows are coming up really soon – like before the end of April. Again, don’t wait too long to see your heroes!

Probably fitting this announcement came during Women’s History Month.

'Don't Stop Believin' Called Biggest Song Of All Time

The Journey classic "Don't Stop Believin" was just named the biggest song of all time by Forbes. The song is 18 times platinum and Forbes reports that every person in the world has "likely" heard the track. Of course that is a bit of hyperbole but it is true that the Journey classic is certainly played to death and all of us here know every word.

"Don't Stop Believin" was released in 1981.

The Dead Daisies Announce Short Tour

One of my favorite supergroups, The Dead Daisies, just announced a short tour for early summer. Shockingly there's actually a date near Cincinnati. I am getting even more excited for summer. Spring starts tomorrow but it is snowing here in southern Ohio today. I'm so over winter and ready for summer and concert season!
