Monsters On The Mountain Announces Bands

Monsters on the Mountain is a new festival that will take place this fall in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Some of the bands just announced for the event include KIX, Vince Neil, Night Ranger and many more. Apparently more bands are being announced this week. The show will be all indoor and "intimate" according to a Facebook post from the organizers.

The show is being put on by the same folks that do the Monsters of Rock Cruise. Tickets are General Admission - but no word yet on pricing.

News Of The Week Roundup: Week 20, 2021

Sometimes it feels like the news is just crazy. Other times, it seems like everything is kind of just plodding along. In the music world, we got lots of concert announcements for the summer, which is great! In other music news, there will soon be a Hip Hop "hall of fame" of sorts to go along with the Rock Hall.

Also in the music world, the family of Randy Rhoads is finally getting back some equipment used by the late genius.

In sports... Tim Tebow is going back to the NFL. He's going to be a tight end for the Jaguars. Tebow signed a one year deal. Yes, he hasn't played professionally in what feels like forever.

The Atlantic hurricane season has already started - there's a named storm already.

The New Yorker does a nice piece on burnout. Having lived it - and still recovering - I think all the questions this article poses are legitimate. Basically, no you're not "burned out" if you're just tired or having a bad day at work. True burnout is far more insidious.

The New York state attorney general's office is now conducting a criminal investigation into the Trump Organization. Most people are asking, "What took so long?"

The cease-fire between Israel and Hamas remains in tact, which is good news, but the violence and tension will undoubtably remain.

Here's a breakdown of how President Biden pushed for the successful cease fire.

Have you received your COVID-19 vaccine yet? The number of new cases, ICU admissions and deaths are going down - but new shots in arms are lagging.

Around the globe, things vaccine-wise are slow going:

And finally, I leave you with this:

Nikki Sixx Teases New Project

Nikki Sixx is teasing new music... and his good friend John 5 tweeted the exact same thing, so he is onboard with whatever this project is as well. You know who else tweeted this? Rob Zombie. An interesting little group. I guess we will know on May 21st!

'Like A House On Fire'

Here's a PSA: Asking Alexandria have a new album out called Like A House On Fire. Now I know they are not glam - but long-time readers understand I love them. I'll be giving this album a close listen and have a review soon. The album has been more than a year in the making and many of the "singles" have already been released. From listening to them it is clear the album is nowhere near as heavy as the band's older stuff (and what makes up the majority of my running playlist).

Motley Crue Announce Retrospective Releases

Celebrating 40 years together, Motley Crue will release a special series of their catalog. This means remasters, folks. I do not need to buy Motley's catalog again, but I suspect quite a few will partake. Girls, Girls, Girls is out June 11, fully remastered.
