A Great Discovery - Queen Related Twitter

Sometimes you stumble across a great Twitter account. Last night I found @queendoingstuff which is literally pictures of the members of Queen... doing things. There's some great classic shots and stuff I've never seen before. So it was a hoot to scroll through the wall and check out some of the images. If you love Queen and classic rock, this is worth a follow. Here's some examples:

This one is photoshopped!

Not A Shocker: Joe Perry Cancels Tour

Joe Perry has canceled his solo tour after his recent health scare. Quite frankly I don't know what took so long to make this decision. This is for the best and I hope Joe gets the rest he needs. He shouldn't be exerting himself or lifting - including his guitar! - for a little while. We need him strong and ready for the big Aerosmith residency in Las Vegas this spring. I sure am glad I'm going to one of the earlier shows. Nothing is guaranteed but the guys in Aerosmith are not young. Accidents, injuries and illnesses happen.

Sweden Rock Announces More Bands

Sweden Rock Fest is looking good and there are still a lot of band announcements left. Yesterday, the fest announced 20 more acts. From my inbox:

2019 will mark 50 years since the formation of ZZ Top and 10 years since they last played at the Sweden Rock Festival. Now the world’s greatest blues rock trio is heading back to Sölvesborg to let classics like ”Gimme all your lovin’”, ”Sharp dressed man”, ”Tush”, ”La grange” and many more sound over the Sweden Rock fields once again.

Actor Jack Black and guitarist Kyle Gass started Tenacious D as a bar show act, but their humoristic style and witty lyrics soon made them huge. Black’s film career only allows the band to tour sporadically, but in Sweden they have lately managed to create chaos at an over populated free amusement park show and sell out an acoustic show at Arenan in Stockholm in virtually no time at all. Needless to say, when they make their Sweden Rock debut, it will be as a full, electric band.

Disturbed has remained in major league of modern metal throughout the 2000’s, much thanks to songs like ”Stricken”, ”Down with the sickness” and ”Indestructible”. Their fanbase is likely to have expanded even further with their hit cover of the Simon & Garfunkel classic “The sound of silence” a couple of years ago. We have wanted the band back to Sweden Rock since their hugely successful 2008 show and in June it is finally time!

Also added to the 2019 line-up are Blackberry Smoke, Axel Rudi Pell, Candlemass, Powerwolf, Gorgoroth, Green Jellÿ, The Night Flight Orchestra, Jag Panzer, Blaze Bayley, FM, Krisiun, Myrath, Thundermother, Zal Cleminson’s Sin Dogs, Jared James Nichols, The Quill and Gathering Of Kings. After this announcement we have another 45 acts before the line-up is complete.

Sweden Rock Festival takes place in Sölvesborg in southern Sweden June 5th to 8th 2019.Previously announced acts include Kiss, Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow and Def Leppard. 4-day tickets are sold out but a small number of 3-day tickets are still available.

Remember To Vote For Def Leppard For The Rock Hall

There's still time to vote for Def Leppard as part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2019 inductees. I voted again and was able to check "current standings." When I looked, the Leps were well in advance of everyone else, which is great!

Oh and there's this: some Def Leppard Christmas gear, including an ugly sweater, but it's $40 bucks...

Queensrÿche Release 'Man The Machine' Lyric Video

Queensrÿche will release The Verdict on March 1, 2019. One of the first singles from this upcoming album is "Man The Machine." The band just dropped a lyric video for the song. It's below and let me know what you think. I'd say this has promise - this album just might be a good one.

Joe Perry Released From Hospital

Joe Perry of Aerosmith is out of the hospital and resting at home after his health scare last weekend. The doctor's did a lot of tests and, according to Blabbermouth, determined that Joe was suffering from allergies and fatigue. I don't buy this for a minute. I'm sure we'll get the real reason why Joe collapsed soon enough. He needs to quit smoking yesterday, though.
