Can You Even Imagine?

My new cat Roosevelt has settled right in. He is comfortable and has basically taken over. He also enjoys loud music now and didn't even flinch when I played Alice Cooper last night. I think that is a great sign!

I did a second take when I saw the Blabbermouth headline earlier today - that the late Eddie Van Halen was considering a reunion tour with David Lee Roth, Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony. Yes, you read that right: all three of them. This revelation comes from Wolfgang, Eddie's son. Apparently Gary Cherone was even mentioned as part of Eddie's "kitchen sink" tour idea.

What a show that would have been. Can you imagine how much we all would have loved it? Also, think of how expensive the tickets would have been!

Wolfie did the interview with Howard Stern on SiriusXM this morning. I was working and did not catch it but I think you can hear replays online.

Alice Cooper Announces 'Detroit Stories' Album

We're getting new Alice Cooper music soon! The new album is called Detroit Stories and it will be released on February 26. The first song released from the album is called "Rock and Roll" and you can listen to it below. It sounds very 70s and I love it.

You have to assume a summer tour will follow this album, COVID-19 permitting of course. I am very excited for this new music. Alice is simply one of the best ever.

Dee Snider Records New Holiday Track

I was out briefly this afternoon. I popped in to a couple stores and it was bedlam. I swear, people were shoulder to shoulder, which is not ideal right now. Christmas music was blaring, carts were full. It did not take long for me to nope out of the situation. Maybe people are buying holiday gifts now in anticipation of more COVID lockdowns? Incidentally, I went to Sam's Club to buy paper towels and the entire aisle was picked clean. No paper towels or toilet paper anywhere. Same story at my COSTCO, too.

So maybe people are panic buying or maybe they are in the holiday spirit. Dee Snider has a "new" Christmas song and Lzzy Hale, of Halestorm, helps sing along. The song is called "The Magic of Christmas Day."

Dee originally wrote the song as a gift for his wife back in the 90s. It was called "God Bless Us Everyone" and was eventually recorded by Celine Dion of all people. Dee reworked the track as a duet for him and Lzzy and made it a rocker, once and for all.

Tommy Lee Guests On New Track

The song is "Climb" and Tommy Lee lends himself to the track alongside Machine Gun Kelly and 24Goldn. The song is from a podcast called Halloween In Hell.

Now I gave this song a fair shot. I listened to it twice but it just is not my cup of tea. Perhaps you will like it. Some people were comparing this to Blink-182. I am not sure what I would even categorize this track as but it does not sound "Halloween" to me.

Ticketmaster Might Check Your Vaccine Status

Yesterday, it was widely reported that Ticketmaster is hatching a plan to make concertgoers prove COVID-19 vaccination or negative test results 72 hours before entry into shows. If the information is not provided, Ticketmaster will not release tickets, thus barring entry to shows. All of this data will be tracked by smartphone.

The shock and outcry from this news was pretty swift and now Ticketmaster is walking it back, at least a little. Company officials now say yesterday's news was misreported, but also admit they are investigating options to track vaccine status:

"It was widely misreported yesterday that Ticketmaster will be requiring vaccine status/test results for future events. This is not true. Ticketmaster does not have the power to set policies around safety/entry requirements, which would include vaccines and/or testing protocols. That is up to the discretion of the event organizer. We are indeed exploring these options, but it is still only a potential concept. And Ticketmaster will not be able to require such parameters — it would always be up to the event organizer."

The future of concerts will be interesting I suppose. Oh, Brave New World, that has such people in it.

Lars Is Probably Right

There is great news on the COVID-19 vaccine front! Pfizer just announced their vaccine under development is 90% effective. Now, there is still a long way to go, but this is very promising. Dr. Fauci even thinks we will begin having widespread vaccination by April. Even still, roll out will go by order of need, with those more vulnerable first. Younger, healthy folks who like to go to big concerts will probably be last. Plus, in the order of importance in the world, concerts rank way below things like normal work and school schedules. An interesting read:
