'Gypsy' -- New Dirty Honey Track

Happy Friday! We made it through another work week. This one felt long, but the weather was pretty nice here so I got to run outside in the sun. Now I'm looking at a weekend of rain, boo!

The big news is that Dirty Honey dropped another new track! This time the song is called "Gypsy" and I love it. The band's official full-length debut album finally comes out later this month. I wish them nothing but success - they are fire!

If You Still Have A Cassette Player...

Motley Crue will release a special cassette box-set for record store day this year. I actually still do have a double-cassette player but it is in storage. I do not keep a whole lot of "stuff" but this particular stereo is important to me. I spent so much time using it during middle and high school. It has a multi-CD changer, two cassette decks, radio and a remote. Yes, for the time it was super sweet. My high school best friend had the exact same stereo - so between the two of us, I think we probably listened to 60 hours of music a week on those things.

It will be interesting to see if this cassette box set is a success for Motley. Yes, it is limited run and a gimmick but not many folks have cassette decks anymore. Will you buy this?

Not Exactly A U.S. Tour, But It's A Start

Sammy Hagar and The Circle just released spring tour dates. Really, the tour is just a bunch of stops in Florida, but this is another good sign that live music is coming back to America this spring and summer! Progress!

It looks like some shows are on presale now with others releasing tickets on Friday. Looks like prices start at $70.

Guns n' Roses Push European Tour

Things are bad in Europe right now with regard to COVID-19. In another pandemic-related blow, Guns n' Roses has pushed its summer European tour to 2022. It is looking like America, Australia, New Zealand and Iceland may have some normal-type concerts this summer while other parts of the world will not. Gn'R could always do a few shows here stateside if possible. I'm sure no one would complain.

I Bought A Concert Ticket!

In a movement toward normality, I bought concert tickets last night! I'm taking Eric and one of my friends to see Brit Floyd at the end of July. I am still leery about buying tickets so far in advance, but I decided to take a leap with this show because it is at a smaller venue and 100% outside. Plus I wanted pit seats.

I have never seen Pink Floyd live and obviously will never get the chance, so I guess this is the next best thing. When I told my friend I got us all tickets, his first response was "it is weird to think about being in a crowd again." Indeed, it is.

News Of The Week Roundup: Week 13, 2021

A busy week indeed! Eric and I have been working like crazy on the house this weekend. As I type this, Eric is working on putting together some patio furniture. Lots of news over the past week involving the economy, politics, the pandemic and more.

The CDC said fully vaccinated people can safely travel within America. That is big news for the hard hit industry. Meanwhile, other countries around the world are facing new waves, including India, Poland and France.

Get your COVID-19 vaccine when it is your turn and keep wearing a mask. When you are done with your mask, don't litter! The addition of regular folks around the world wearing PPE is killing wildlife. Seriously, don't be a jerk. Find a trashcan.

Major League Baseball is moving the All-Star game out of Atlanta because the state's Republican legislature passed incredibly restrictive voting laws aimed at keeping minorities from the polls.

An apparent kook rammed his car into a U.S. Capitol barricade, killing himself, a Capitol police officer and injuring another officer. Another sad situation for the Capitol Police. Was the action caused by head injuries sustained from a lifetime of playing football?

Apparently, Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz is in some legal trouble and is accused of having inappropriate relationships with underage girls. SNL had some fun with the story last night.

And I leave you with this:

Robin McAuley Releases New Music

Hear "Say Goodbye," a brand new track from Robin McAuley, below. The song is from the upcoming album Standing On The Edge due out May 7. If you guessed the album was on Frontiers... well, you would be correct! Been seeing a lot of Dokken comparisons to this online. Agree?
