'Rainy Day' -- Ice Nine Kills, New Video

It's the 9th day of the month and Ice Nine Kills have dropped a new video. The clip is for the song "Rainy Day" and it is from the upcoming album The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood.

I really appreciate bands that go all in with their branding: the costumes, makeup, videos - all of it. Ice Nine Kills always stays true to their Halloween-themed branding and I love it. I am so excited for the new album - it is probably my most anticipated release of 2021.

So Apparently There Is A Metal Peloton Channel

According to the Tweet below, Peloton has a metal playlist and now Metallica is part of it, too. You can use the Peloton app without having a branded bike or treadmill. A little more information about the playlist and ride schedule is available on the Pelo Buddy website. I don't personally have the Peloton app right now, but I do have some free credits to access it via one of my credit card benefits. Perhaps I should pull the trigger and check this out.

Rocklahoma Wrap Video

Rocklahoma took place in Pryor, Oklahoma over the long holiday weekend. There was some bad weather and many complaints about the different stage layouts. Were you there? If so, what did you think? The wrap-up video below looks like it was all a lot of fun. Too bad Rocklahoma changed many years ago and now has very few Glam bands among the lineups.

Click for the wrap-up video.

No New Steel Panther Bassist (Yet)

Rumors are swirling that Steel Panther has a new bass player. Lexxi Foxx left the band several weeks ago and the remaining members of Steel Panther have been conducting online auditions. Apparently, bass player Phil Buckman posted a photo of himself online playing with the Panther and folks assumed he had the job locked up. Apparently no decision has yet been made.

News Of The Week Roundup: Week 35, 2021

My shoulder/arm/wrist is absolutely killing me today, so not much commentary from me follows. I have no idea why I am throbbing so bad, but it sucks and ibuprofen is not helping.

The two biggest stories of the past week (for me) are the unconstitutional Texas abortion ban that the Supreme Court let stand via shadow docket and the horrific remnants of Hurricane Ida on the east coast.

Also, I'm a weather nerd. The storms up the east coast definitely were forecast. Meteorologists mentioned catastrophic flooding as a possibility. The rain came so fast and swift, infrastructure just could not keep up. Some elected officials, namely New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio, keep going on TV saying no one knew the weather was coming. That just is not true.

...and some hopeful COVID-19 news for America:

Dirty Honey, 'The Wire' -- New Video

This is not a drill: Dirty Honey has a new video out for their song "The Wire." The song is on the band's self-titled debut full-length album. A great way to celebrate the holiday weekend!

Vince Neil Uses Emsculpt Neo To Shed Pounds

Vince Neil is apparently trying to slim down ahead of next summer's "The Stadium Tour" featuring Motley Crue. He's using some device called the Emsculpt Neo which is a toning machine for the stomach. It has something to do with energy waves and tissue building.

I think it is great that Vince wants to get back into shape. We all should want to stay in shape - or get there! But really, it's all CICO. That's calories in, calories out. No human can beat thermodynamics. Eat less and move around more. You don't need to kill yourself with crazy gimmicks or really hard workouts either. Daily walking will help you slim down - just keep your calories in check.

Most folks who have been coming here a long time know I like to run and exercise in general. After my accident and bad shoulder break in June, I had to stop running and began brisk walking to maintain some fitness. I can run again now, but I still do regular walks too. Brisk walking - especially up hills - can be a really good workout and helps build stamina. The walking has helped eased me back into running while I waited for my arm to stop throbbing from the swinging motion.

Lifting weights can really help you drop pounds faster too - again, if your calories are in check. I cannot lift weights yet, but hopefully I will be cleared to do so soon. All this to say, I have not gained any weight as a result of my accident. I try to keep my diet in check, but Glam knows I eat my share of treats, and I try to move with purpose every day. So I hope Vince gets the results he wants and people will stop mocking him for his appearance. It seems he is at least trying!
