New David Lee Roth Music - 'Hi-Fashion Girl'

Thank you to all who have served on this Veterans Day!

It is Saturday and we have some "new" David Lee Roth music! Roth just shared the track "Hi-Fashion Girl" from his unreleased 2007 project. Guitarist John 5 is also on the track. At this point, it doesn't seem like the unreleased album will ever be officially released, but at least we are getting the songs a little at a time now. What do you think?

New John 5 Music

Guitarist John 5 has shared a new song called "The Ghost." While I still can't get used to John 5 being the guitarist for Motley Crue and not Mick Mars, there's no denying the guy's massive talent. John 5 is a hell of a guitar player and great songwriter, too.

John 5 wrote "The Ghost" about his guitar and it's hauntingly amazing. Also, shout out to the dog in the video - I love how he sleeps through most of it.

Sunday's Best: Week 46, 2022

It's Sunday again. My Bengals are on a bye week and Eric and I have been working on repainting my office. I think I'm also finally over a three-week bout of illness that included Influenza A, an inner and outer ear infection in my right ear... and then another trip back to Minute Clinic for an ear infection in my left ear. It's been real. For the first time in about a month I can hear out of both ears! Also, I can't imagine what the flu would have felt like without my vaccine, so get that shot. The body aches are no joke.

It went from basically perfect weather in Ohio... to cold and snow yesterday. It seems like winter is here now, no matter what the calendar says.

In music news, I caught this tweet the other day from John 5. He played some Motley Crue (with his cat!) to prove his ability to step into the very large shoes vacated by Mick Mars. I think he will do a good job as Motley Crue guitarist on the road.

Motley Crue Releases Official Statement Regarding John 5

With the news that Mick Mars has retired from touring, Motley Crue released a statement naming John 5 as the official replacement. John 5 is a beast on the guitar, so no worries there. No doubt the vibe will be different at live shows going forward.

Thank You Mick Mars, For All The Memories

The rumors were true - or at least partially so. Mick Mars, Motley Crue guitarist, will retire from touring. He remains a member of the band, meaning any new music Motley might release should include Mick.

As you probably know, Mick has a debilitating disease called Ankylosing spondylitis which makes moving incredibly painful over time. Mick has been living with the condition for decades.

I was amazed (in a good way!) that Mick made it through The Stadium Tour over the summer. That was a lot of dates and it is clear his condition is worsening. Also, he isn't 30 anymore. No word if John 5 really will replace Mick in the touring version of Motley. I thank Mick for so many good concert memories and I'm glad I got to see the original Crue lineup live many times!
